Company Profile

The Cranchi story began 129 years ago.
The construction of small, wooden lake boats on the shore at San Giovanni di Bellagio back in 1870 has developed quite naturally into industrial production of pleasure boats.
Exactly one hundred years after the company was founded, having created for itself a well-defined market share, the boat yard recognized the need for more space to expand production.
It found the ideal site to build its new factory in nearby Valtellina.
The production, administrative and commercial departments of the Cantiere Nautico Cranchi are based at Piantedo in the province of Sondrio, north Italy.
The "most highly technological boatyard" (as it has been called) covers 70,000 square meters of which 30,000 are covered.
Cranchi’s move in the early 1990’s into the market segment of boats over 40’ long required a massive increase in production infrastructures. The new departments, built to respect the most stringent standards of comfort and safety, offer the best possible conditions for high quality production.
Firm believers that it is not possible to build the boats of the future using techniques from the past, the company has made large investments in the modernization of plants and machinery, in the search for new construction and application techniques and in improvement of the work environment as well as to guarantee product quality.
Personnel, investments and technologies have always been the strong points of the company, which has now been in constant operation for 129 years and is known around the world.
Cranchi is sufficiently small to be able to react quickly and flexibly to the needs of its customers but it is also big enough to offer the market truly innovative products.
