Company Profile

The year was 1968. Based on intuition combined with an abiding passion for the sea, the Ferretti brothers, Alessandro and Norberto, created a nautical division in the family company that, at the time, sold automobiles.
Two years later the first Ferretti 10-metre motor sailor saw the light of day. That was the start of an entrepreneurial success story that was to lead to the development of one of the world's leading groups in the luxury yacht sector.
After a long period in the sail segment, at the beginning of the 1980s the strategic choice went to motor-powered vessels. The choice was a winner: sport fisherman, open and fly bridge were the models produced.
Thanks to major R&D effort, both commercial and sports success soon arrived, with 2 victories in the 1994 and 1997 Class 1 World Offshore Championships.
Expansion of the range and sports victories aided internationalization of the Group, which, as well as in Europe, also started to sell in North and South America.
From 1997 onwards the Group fine-tuned its acquisition strategy. This led to its present organization comprising Custom Line, Pershing and CRN - a range of boats unique in terms of their standards of quality.
In May 2000 Ferretti purchases the prestigious boat manufacturers Riva S.p.A. of Sarnico, consolidating its production and distribution leadership in the high band of the motor yacht segment.
Finally, in August 2001 the acquisition of the well know shipyard Apreamare in Sorrento, leader in the production of the typical "sorrento gozzo" boats from 7 to 16 meters.
