- TAVEX is born in Bergara, in the province of Guipuzcoa, Spain, in 1.846 with the name of " Factory of yarns, fabrics and printed material of Bergara ". It began its activity being spacialized in indianas and other fabrics of cotton, utilizing already since its beginnings the indigo colorant.
- In 1.901 the company changes its name by that of " Algonodera of de San Antonio S.A being adapted to the new Law of Limited Companies.
- Until the 60s the company is specialist in workwear fabrics and in fabrics for the army.
- In 1.970 it takes the strategic decision to foccuse its production in denim, investing in the first dyeing rope machine in Spain.
- In 1.989 it is born truly the group TAVEX. The need to acquire dimension to be able to compete in an open and globalized market carries to Algonodera de San Antonio to enlarge its productive capacity acquiring two denim facilities in Valencia.
- Tavex begins to quote in the Stock Exchange and becomes the biggest Spanish denim manufacturer.
- In 1.990, TAVEX, following with its strategy of leadership, builds a new faciity in (Settat) Morocco, what gives to the company a new competitive advantage upon installing in the most important nucleus of the European cut and sew delocation.
- TAVEX is already the major producer od denim in Europe.
- Althoug its most important specialization is demin, TAVEX follows investing in its factories adapting them to the changing needs of the market, making more flexible its production, modifying of drastic form its product mix toward articles exclusively differentiated, of value added, and competing in all the sectors of the market of sportswear and workwear.
- In 1.998, following with its plan of diversification, it acquires the 33.33% of the company SA SANPERE dedicated to the home furnishing fabrics production. In 1.999 it acquires another 33.3% assuming the management of the company.
- In 1.999 it invests in a new dyeing and finishing factory for sportswear fabrics in Morocco.
- TAVEX has the certificate ISO 9001 for all its factories.
- TAVEX exports more than the 80% of its production counting on clients in more than 50 countries.
