Company Profile

Johann Martinus Baeumler founded the mercantile tradition in the 17th century that has, since then, been passed down in the Baeumler family.
It was Kommerzialrat Hans Baeumler, the grandfather of today's president of the supervisory board, who moved to Munich and founded his own company, the Hans Baeumler AG in 1927. He passed away shortly afterwards, and the company was sold.
On November 2, 1934, 21-year-old Hans Jr. founded the company Hans Bäumler Menswear, with the ambition to continue the family tradition. The number of employees quickly grew to 200, and the first million Reichsmarks affirmed prospects of success. But World War II cut short the company's plans for expansion. In October 1944, the company moved part of the manufacturing facilities to Ingolstadt in Germany and to Hohenems, Austria establishing the foundation for the Bäumler Group.
Hans Bäumler was able to overcome the scarcities following the war, leading to rapid expansion and growth.
In 1968, Hans Bäumler Jr. joined the management team, followed the next year by Carl-Heinz Bäumler.
In 1974, the enlarged company headquarters in Ingolstadt was one of the largest and most modern and advanced workplaces in southern Germany.
In 1978, the Bäumler Group achieved total sales of DM 100 million, a confirmation of the company's concept, vision, and strategic policies in management and conservative pricing.
On April 2, 1983, Consul Hans Bäumler was awarded the Bundesverdienstkreuz in recognition of his contribution to the German economy and his honorary positions in numerous industry and labor associations.
