In 1987, Michele Bohbot left Paris in search of the American Dream. Arriving in Los Angeles armed with artistic ambition and a stream of positive energy, she set out to learn the mechanisms of the American apparel industry. In 1989, Michele felt ready to debut her fresh, contemporary collection under the label BISOU BISOU, French slang meaning "a little kiss". The timing was ideal as the budding collection filled a void in the women's sportswear market just as that market was about to explode.
Michele's main goal was, and still is, to please the strong, feminine woman by helping her to express her inner spirit. Employing a unique combination of sumptuous fabrics and innovative new styling, Michele was able to deliver her vision of Parisian street fashion with a modern style that American women would understand. The BISOU BISOU collection enjoyed an immediate success and the next challenge was to maintain this rapid growth.
Over the next few years, BISOU BISOU flourished as a result of Michele's tireless efforts to deliver hip styles in clothing to her ever-expanding following of loyal customers.
Always bearing in mind the need for comfort, flexibility and visual appeal in exercise apparel, Michele designed a collection to answer the needs of fitness disciples with the L'Om collection.
