OHE - a piece of family tradition
Company founder H. Hagenbuch (born 1901) started work with oil hydraulics as a young engineer. In his day, he worked specifically on the control of water turbines. As a freelance engineer at the beginning of the 50s, he built hydraulically driven special machines and presses. He had to develop the majority of these himself as there was as yet no market for hydraulic components. Manufacture was generally handled by small mechanical workshops. However, because it was impossible to achieve the necessary quality, my grandfather founded the company Hydro H. Hagenbuch in 1955. This formed the foundation for today's Oelhydraulik Hagenbuch AG.
My father, H. Hagenbuch, took over the running of the company in 1964. To meet increasing customer demands in machinery constructions, drive systems were more and more frequently being fitted with electronic components. This enabled hydraulics to enter completely new fields of application. In the 80s, the coompany developed more and more to become a system manufacturer. New technologies had to be combined with hydraulics. As a result, the team of engineers, especially in the control and management technology division, was expanded by the addition of young specialists.
There was another technological advance in the 90s. Software solutions were integrated to flesh out the range of complete drive systems and solutions. Today, we are in a position to be able to develop customer oriented solutions for complex tasks and to provide all the elements from a one-stop shop as well as bringing the system to operational standards. The range goes from special hydraulic components, through customer tailored cylinders, units, etc. to very large hydraulic plants including control and process management. For specialist market sectors, such as test hydraulics, we can offer complete testing machines ranging from single axis operation through to complex 6-DOF system.
In 2000, our entire service division was merged with our local shop to create an independent, flexible service center. The aim here is to offer our customers rapid and comprehensive support, even after their equipment has gone operational.
As the third generation, I have been working for the company since 1996 and I have an optimistic view of the future. Thanks to our great innovative strength and a highly motivationed team, we look forward to forthcoming challenges. We regard Oelhydraulik Hagenbuch AG as a visionary competence centre for components and drive systems of medium to high levels of complexity and as a supplier of innovative complete solutions.
