"We share a passion for innovation and experimentation," says Miriam Cividini, co-creative director of the namesake company she founded with her husband Piero in 1987. "Piero and I are a great team because we believe in mixing old-world craftsmanship and modern technology to create clothing that's tactile, sensual, substantive."
Inspired by the rich history, culture and architecture of Bergamo, a medieval town with cobblestone streets, the Cividinis work out of a XVI century building that, with its sleek and modern interiors, is in itself a combination of past and present. This is where Miriam and Piero have created novel yarns such as water-repellent cashmere, cashmere souffle' and eco-cashmere.
What started as a small knitwear collection has grown to include men's and women's sportswear, footwear, handbags and small leathergoods - all of which bear the CIVIDINI stamp of individuality, artistry and craftsmanship.
