Many men suffer from heat rash. Cynthia Dunning Michels, President of Ergo, Inc., discovered that there are several problems that afflict the male population in general: Heat and moisture build up, the effects of gravity and age, and Pinching and binding.
The problems were not related to physical size or activity level.
They purchased and tested more than 20 different products with disappointing results. As an engineer, Dunning Michels thought she would attack the problem as she would any technical challenge. After developing a list of functional parameters with a team of doctors, she worked on the materials and design specifications — the e2u was engineered to solve each and every problem on the list.
Thus began the system of user testing pattern cycles that finalized the e2u unit — 36 testing/enhancement cycles before the final version was created.
While preparing for manufacturing operations, they developed the unique 100% combed cotton fabric used in e2us, and the best elastics were located and tested for durability.
