Company Profile

Expertise
EM Microelectronic is a semi- conductor manufacturer specialized in the design and production of ultra low power, low voltage integrated circuits for battery-operated and field-powered applications in consumer, automotive and industrial areas. We have over 26 years of experience in the design of ICs processing analog and digital signals simultaneously. Our product portfolio encompasses RFID circuits, smart cards, ultra-low power microcontrollers, power management, LCD drivers and displays, sensor and opto-electronic ICs, mixed-mode arrays and standard analog ICs. We also offer module and bumping services. We manufacture not only standard circuits and ASICs, but also system solutions and modules for applications such as access control, radio frequency identification, mobile phones, mass-market consumer appliances, alarm and security systems, utility and heating meters, sensor signal processing, controlling, car immobilization, electronic automotive subsystems and many more.

History
EM Microelectronic-Marin, also known as EM-Marin or simply EM (more rarely EEM), started its activities in the 1970's by designing miniaturized, ultra low power integrated circuits for watches in the town of Marin, Switzerland. Today it is a subsidiary of the THE SWATCH GROUP Ltd. With strong foundations in such a high volume consumer product requiring very low power and low voltage, EM grew in new markets and is today in a leading position for supplying electronic circuits to battery-operated and field-powered applications. Today most of its revenues come from markets not related to the watch industry. At equal priority EM produces ICs for the telecommunications, computer periperals, industrial electronics and automotive sectors and serves customers in all countries throughout the world. EM has its own production facility and also uses external foundries.
