Rutter Technologies Incorporated was founded in 1998 by two well established Canadian companies, Sigma Engineering Limited and Consolidated Technologies. The first Rutter Voyage Data Recorder was primarily an integration of technologies from both companies. Building on the experience and depth of technical expertise, Rutter was able to produce and install its first VDR within 5 months of Incorporation.
Since those first months, Rutter has produced the world's most advanced VDR. The quality of the product and expertise of the staff attracted the attention of the ConPro Group of Companies, who acquired controlling interest in April 2001. Rutter is now the fastest growing company within the ConPro Group, ready to aggressively pursue the international market.
