High Module Efficiencies
Roofs often have limited space for solar modules. The higher each
module’s efficiency, the better the efficiency of the entire system. Our
solar modules have above-average efficiencies of up to 15.4%.

Enhanced Weak Light Performance
Module output under laboratory conditions usually does not reflect
actual output in real-world installations. In the field, performance
under low light conditions has a strong impact on energy yield. Our
novel cell design and improved solar glass ensure that Suntech modules
perform well under real world, low light conditions.

Self Cleaning
A special layer in the high quality solar glass of the Suntech modules
causes water to run off more quickly, thereby enabling the glass to clean
itself of dust and dirt in a similar manner to the lotus effect. A further
layer improves the reflective behaviour, allowing more sunlight to be
transported into the modules and causing less light to be reflected. In this
way the module is also able to produce more electricity. An ingenious
combination for improved yields and consistently high system performance.

Power Optimized Current Sorting
Suntech sorts and packages modules with matching current characteristics
to ensure each module string can achieve maximum power output.
Current-matched modules install quickly, minimize lost power due to
module mismatch, and maximize lifetime energy output.

Approved for increased wind and snow loads
Suntech'solar modules are subjected to the most stringent
load tests. In contrast to suction loads of 2,400 Pa, which result from
dynamic wind loads, Suntech modules withstand suction loads of up to 3,800
Pa (~270 km/h/168mph) by default. Moreover, the modules withstand a snow
load of 5,400 Pa, which corresponds to a weight of 550 kg/m2/112.7Ibs./sq.
ft.

Positive power tolerance
Many competitors' solar modules have a power tolerance
of+/- 3%, meaning that, ultimately, system owners receive less output for
their money. Our solar modules all enjoy positive power output tolerance of
up to +5%

6,7% more power guaranteed
The customary power output warranty within the industry
is 90% of power for a period of up to 10 years and 80% for 25 years. But for
system operators, the performance of solar modules not only needs to be high
but also constant. For this reason, we offer a power output warranty for our
products that is beyond the industry standard and scaled optimally: 95%/5
years, 90%/12 years, 85%/18 years, and 80%/25years.

Ammonia-resistant (TÜV Rheinland)
Particularly the use of solar modules in agriculture puts
high requirements on the ammonia resistance of the module materials used.
All Suntech solar modules are tested using the newly developed test
procedure of TÜV Rheinland in compliance with DIN 50916. This procedure
strictly tests the performance behavior as well as the behavior of various
materials, isolation, and security characteristics.

manufacturing sites, located in China and the United States, follow

CELL PRODUCTION
Suntech solar cells undergo a chemical surface micro-texturing process that
improves their ability to capture light. The cell production facility
employs industry-leading manufacturing techniques to create high conversion
efficiency solar cells.
MODULE PRODUCTION
Cells with similar electrical characteristics are matched during module
assembly to minimize efficiency losses. Laminated modules are equipped with
corrosion-resistant frames and weather-proof electrical components to create
a durable, water-tight product.
TESTING AND VERIFICATION
Our quality control program features 52 tests and checks throughout the cell
and module manufacturing process. Once fully assembled, all Suntech modules
undergo a final performance test and are categorized based on power and
current production. Our rigorous review process ensures we deliver only the
highest quality products to our customers.

Pluto Cell Technology: The Next Generation of Solar
After eight years of intensive R&D, the world record
holding PERL solar cell design from the University of New South Wales (UNSW)
has been successfully commercialized to Suntech’s production lines as Pluto™
solar cells and HiPerforma™ solar modules. Well exceeding efficiencies
achieved by conventional screen-printing processes, Pluto technology has
been independently verified to reach efficiencies of greater than 19% in
mass production.
Pluto cells feature a unique texturing process that improves sunlight
absorption, even in conditions of low and indirect light. Our innovative
Pluto cell design and ultra-fine top contact gridlines combine to boost
power output, delivering a 10-15% performance advantage using the same
materials, wafers, and module line equipment as a standard cell.
