|
|
|
Multiple light beam safety devices
Multiple light beam safety devices are electro-sensitive
protective devices comprising a sender unit and a receiver unit or a
sender/receiver unit on the active side and one or more deflector mirrors on
the passive side. If one or more light beams are interrupted, the multiple
light beam safety device provides a shutdown signal that is suitable for
interrupting the dangerous state on a machine or system.
|
 |
Single-beam photoelectric safety switches
ICK’s single-beam photoelectric safety switches consist
either of testable senders and receivers, or of testable senders and
receivers combined with an evaluation unit. These devices impress both with
their large scanning range and the variety of shapes and sizes available.
They also offer maximum safety performance as they comply with type 2 or
type 4 in accordance with EN 61496 and PL c or PL e according to EN ISO
13849.
|
 |
Mirror and device columns
Device columns are used where there are problems mounting
opto-electronic protective devices. On machining centres the protective
devices must be positioned in the open room. An Entry/Exit system is often
used at the gates for automatic material transport. The robust device
columns with the 2 external mounting grooves in combination with the muting
arms, brackets and protective plates ensure straightforward, flexible
attachment of the muting sensors. The combination of multiple light beam
safety devices or safety light curtains with deflector mirrors is the right
solution for perimeter protection.

Barcode scanners - Choose your series
SICK barcode scanners speed up the logistics and
automation. Excellent reading performance ensures the process flow even when
the barcodes are of poor quality or damaged. The high scanning frequency
allows high process speeds. Easy-to-use networking and first-rate user
comfort also benefit the company. The compact connection systems save space
and costs.
|
 |
Image-based Code Readers (1D/2D/OCR)
The stationary 2D code scanners from SICK have a
multitude of uses. Whether 1D or 2D, or direct marked codes (e.g. laser, dot
peening, ink jet) on metallic or plastic surfaces or on paper, they provide
a suitable solution for every application. They are multi-compatible in
their connectivity: From the machine right up to the control system, they
can be integrated in every environment.
|
 |
Hand-held Scanners
Data has to be recorded quickly and flexibly in almost
all industries. It is here that hand-held scanners from SICK perform
first-class work, because without automatic scanners everything would have
to be read off and registered manually. This takes too long and is
susceptible to errors. When hand-held scanners are used as an interface for
fully developed auto-ident solutions, data is recorded in seconds and
reading errors are as good as impossible. It makes life easier for
employees, processes are accelerated and sources of error are eliminated –
in all company departments.
|
|
|
|
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)
Logistics, curier express parcel services, automobile
manufacture – RFID can be utilized to identify pallets, ensure smooth
transport of totes or match the content to the right transport box.
RFID allows identification, even with difficult environmental conditions,
without visual contact between reader and object to be identified. This
allows a reliable and fast detection. Identifying faster means commissioning
faster – commissioning faster means higher efficiency and therefore real
cost reduction.
SICK as a complete supplier for Auto Ident applications opens up a great
variety of application possibilities with RFID and barcode.
|
 |
Connection modules
SICK modules offer effortless connection to almost all
fieldbus technologies: the CDB and CDM connection modules allow simple
wiring of sensors, even in CAN networks. The sensors are easily integrated

up-to-date just like liquid levels. For stocking, tank content, storage
capacities or automated disposal. We offer modern technology for small and
large measuring tasks. Laser, guided microwave (TDR), ultrasound,
hydrostatic measurement up to the electromechanical option: Measure liquid
levels reliably with our measuring devices.
|
|
|
|
Level sensors: Vibration
The sturdy stainless steel tuning fork is
piezoelectrically energized and vibrates at its resonant frequency. If the
tuning fork is covered with liquid or bulk solid, the vibration frequency
changes. This change is reliably detected by the integrated electronic
circuitry and converted into a switch signal.
|
 |
Level sensors: Guided radar
A low-energy, electromagnetic impulse is generated in the
electronics of the sensor and coupled into the probe. When this impulse
reaches the fluid on the surface to be measured, part of the impulse is
reflected there and runs along the probe back to the measurement
electronics, which then calculate the fill level from the time difference
between the impulse sent out and the received on.
|
|
Level sensors: Capacitance
Level and feed monitoring – that is one of attributes of
capacitive sensors. Irrespective of whether it involves a solid material
such as paper or wood, granules or liquids. They reliably detect the status
of the product in the production process and during final inspection.
|
|
|
|

Contrast Sensors
ICK - The pioneer in contrast sensors for over 60
years
Contrast sensors are primarily used in packaging/printing machines for the
detection of printed or control marks. SICK's line of KT contrast sensors
detects even the smallest contrasts at the highest speeds, such as print
marks on foils or packaging. They detect minute grayscale variations between
the mark and the background on matte, shiny or transparent surfaces. A wide
range of device types with various contrast resolution methods and teach-in
versions is available to meet wide-ranging requirements.
|
 |
Color Sensors
Focus on color
Color Sensors detect the color of a surface. The sensors cast light
(red, green, and blue LEDs) on the objects to be tested, calculate the
chromaticity coordinates from the reflected radiation and compare them with
previously stored reference colors. If the color values are within the set
tolerance range, a switching output is activated.
|
 |
Luminescence Sensors
The bright idea for fluorescent material
Luminescence sensors detect visible and non-visible marks that light up
when using ultraviolet (UV) light. Fluorescent material and marks are
reliably detected independently of their pattern, colors or surface
conditions on any material. Luminescence sensors emit UV light with a wave
length of approximately 375 nm. Fluorescent substances convert the UV light
into long-wave visible light, which is then received and evaluated by the
luminescence sensor.

|
Fork Sensors
SICK Fork Sensors: more models, more functionality
Fork sensors, which operate using the through-beam principle, combine
sender and receiver in a single housing. As a result, alignment is no longer
time-consuming. Even very slight differences in light attenuation are
detected, thanks to tightly focused light emission and high detection
accuracy. The wide range of fork widths, easy installation and high immunity
to ambient light are some of the many advantages that SICK fork sensors
offer. Applications include, for example, detecting labels or parts on
conveyors.

 |
Ultrasonic sensors
Flexible and precise
measurement – with ultrasonic sensors from SICK
Sound is a natural phenomenon which enables every living being to recognize
its environment without physical contact and over widely varying distances.
SICK's ultrasonic sensors make use of the phenomena of sound to detect
objects and measure distances with high accuracy, outstanding background
suppression and the reliable detection of objects; independently of the
object’s appearance.
The application determines the output – binary, analog or the combination of
both – according to your wish.
|

Position finders
DMP position finders are optoelectronic sensors that are
used for millimetre-accurate fine positioning in the storage and conveyors
segment, among others. Changing geometric conditions are found here (e.g. at
transfer and docking stations) due to temperature-, load- or steel
structure-dependent effects, making reliable positioning impossible. The DMP
position finder was developed and subsequently further developed to solve
this problem. The sensors are used for fine positioning in the x- and
y-directions, in particula

Encoders: Positioning encoders
Distances, positions and angles — when a precise
positioning is required in the area of industrial engineering, an encoder is
just unbeatable. When making distance measurements the resolution of the
encoder is in the micrometer range, when making angular measurements it is
equivalent to very few thousandth degrees. In this way machines and
components of all kinds can be positioned very precisely.
Absolute, non-contact length measuring systems, wire-draw encoders and
compact measuring wheel encoders complete the offer.
