RHI Magnesita, refractory industry

Since 2021, ek robotics has been revolutionizing RHI Magnesita's production site in Radenthein, Austria, with twelve custom-made automated guided vehicles. Three transport robots from the CUSTOM MOVE series are used to transport heavy loads. With an inclinable and powerful mast, the transport robots are capable of transporting loads of up to 16 tons. Their dimensions are correspondingly large: Measuring over 4.3 meters long and 3 meters wide, the vehicles weigh over 10 tons. They transport the refractory products through narrow corridors, over rails and set them down at the tunnel kiln with millimeter precision. 

The result: increased safety, sustainably efficient material flow and minimized downtimes in the plant.

Automated shelf storage with CUSTOM MOVE AGV

With two customized AGVs, 4-way forklifts of the CUSTOM MOVE series, ek robotics has automated the storage and retrieval of goods in two mobile racks at Warema (manufacturer of sun protection systems). In a 3-shift operation, the vehicles serve over 1900 storage locations at a transfer height of up to 8 meters. With the AGV solution from ek robotics and the 2 custom-made automated guided vehicles (AGVs), the shelf storage at the production site in Wertheim, Germany is sustainably optimized. The result: maximum efficiency and quality increase. The automated guided vehicle system from ek robotics is in use 24/7.

Custom Move AGV

GE Jenbacher

The manufacturer of gas engines and combined heat & power units INNIO Jenbacher has been relying on twelve CUSTOM MOVE transport robots from ek robotics for many years. The area-moving assembly platforms are equipped with a swivel device for ergonomic assembly on the gas engines, which weigh up to 25,000 kg.

The passage of the assembly line takes place in a clocked manner. When assembly is complete, the CUSTOM MOVE vehicles reverse back to the start to be loaded with the next engine block.
