Off-machine production provides time and quality gains.
Process reliability is crucial in the aircraft industry. Due to the fact that the application is based on military specifications, the requirements are particularly high. The application is unique in that the spotfacing is eccentric to the bore.

In order to realise this back spotfacing, a temporary 6.35 mm bore diameter is created. The bore is then drilled, taking the eccentricity into account – extended to Ø8.3 mm. A BSF special tool is used for this.

Due to the automated deburring, the component can now be completely processed on the machine. For this difficult-to-machine material, the customer received a solution that reliably produces a back spot face larger than double the bore diameter.
