Mantel-Widerstandstemperatursensoren

Mineral insulated (MI) Resistance Sensors (RTD – Resistance Temperature Detector)

Boylon offers MI Resistance sensor (RTD) with extension cables and/or with connection heads.

Outside diameter:
2 - 8 mm

Measuring range:

-50 + 600 °C
3 wires or 4 wire system
Sensor element:
thin film element

Working Principle, explained as example for a Pt100:
A Pt100 temperature sensor is a resistance sensor (Resistance Temperature Detector, RTD) made of platinum. It has a typical resistance of 100 Ω at 0°C. If the Pt100 is connected to power, a voltage arises. By measuring this voltage, the resistance and following the temperature can be measured. The resistance of a Pt100 changes almost linearly with the temperature, Pt100 can usually measure temperatures up to 850°C.
.

Features - compared to thermocouples:
• higher accuracy
• strong and sensitive signal
• better stability
