Activated carbon filter cartridges

0,00

Activated carbon filter cartridges are equipped with steam-activated hard coal pellets and are especially designed for heavily contaminated liquids. Due to the bulk form, no blocking of the activated carbon surface by coarse dirt is possible and the period of use is extremely long.

RENNER offers you an extensice range of different activated carbon filter cartridges, as well as activated carbon granulate in AK-canisters. These are used when the pure mechanical filter effect is no longer sufficient for the dissolved substances, as they are only molecular in size.

Other properties

Activated carbons are classified according to their raw material sources (e.g. hard coal or plant residues such as coconut etc.) and their delivery forms (pellets, vlock, granulate, powder). The type and form in which activated carbon should be used most effectively depends on the individual requirements of the customer. Hard coal excellently adsorbs many dissolved substances from liquids, which otherwise cannot be filtered mechanically. due to the adsorption effect of activated carbon, dissolved substances such as oil, grease, pesticides, colorants and ohter organic compounds are bound and removed from liquids. Excess chlorine or, for example, the disinfecting ozone react with activated carbon and are rendered harmless. Odorous substances also bind themselves completely to activated carbon and can no longer escape. Once bitter substances have been adsorbed on activated carbon, they can no longer contamiate food, making activated carbon indispensable in the food insdustry. In electroplanting, activated carbon is used very effectively, for example, to remove disturbing oranic compounds from various baths. Due to the bulk material the inital differential pressures are low and this is what makes for the long service life.
