At \u201cinterzum\u201d (held May 13 through 16 in Cologne), Stabilus updated customers and interested visitors about its new strategic direction and new product developments, such as the new \u201cBlue Line\u201d, a cost-efficient innovative swivel chair column. Stabilus presented innovations and specialty types for office swivel chairs, focusing on the topic of ergonomics in sit-stand workstations.<\/p>\n<p>In Europe, STABILUS is the only supplier of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.expo21xx.com\/motion21xx\/damper_gas_spring.htm\">gas springs<\/a> in the swivel chair segment, and globally, the company offers the broadest gas spring product range. Stabilus is now poised to enlarge its \u201cglobal footprint\u201d by expanding its global presence into swivel chair gas springs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Productive around the globe<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cA large number of our key accounts are producing their swivel chairs on three continents. Following this trend, we will now also start final assembly of columns and gas springs for swivel chairs in Asia \u2013 in addition to Mexico. The geographic proximity will shorten response times for the delivery of our high-quality products,\u201d explains Manfred Metzdorf, Sales Manager at STABILUS. In addition, the company will further expand its swivel chair plant in Romania: Recently, the BLOC-O-LIFT production of locking gas springs, used for example for backrest adjustment, was relocated to Romania.<\/p>\n<p><strong>New product strategy launched<\/strong><br \/>\nAt the same time, innovative new developments and improvements as well as the fleshing out of the portfolio are gaining momentum, allowing STABILUS to introduce the new \u201cBlue Line\u201d \u2013 a cost-effective product line of swivel chair columns. \u201cWith Blue Line, we will be operating in the mid-priced segment, laying the foundation for expanding our strong position in the global market after all European competitors have exited this market segment due to the intense price pressure from Chinese suppliers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>interzum: Chairs revolving around new STABILUS products<\/strong><br \/>\nIn addition to these strategic developments, at \u201cinterzum 2013,\u201d STABILUS will present product innovations as well as specialty and innovation models for the swivel chair segment. A pioneer in its field \u2013 most swivel chair columns with special functions that exist on the world market today used to be STABILUS patents \u2013 the company will also present the STAB-O-MAT UC \u2013 Universal Column. This is a stroke-efficient swivel chair column with an adjustable cone adapter for low seat heights and a wide adjustment range. This makes fabricating costly customized chairs for special seat heights a thing of the past.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the familiar actuation variants, the new product line includes a very low-force swivel chair column combined with a standard actuation tappet, which makes it ideal for applications with a Bowden cable that require low tensile forces. Swivel chair height adjustment will become a cinch.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Building on proven features<\/strong><br \/>\nAnother focus of STABILUS at this tradeshow will be on the benefits of sit-stand workstations. Here, the BLOC-O-LIFT gas spring will allow adjusting the height and tilt of desks. In addition, the company offers a matching swivel chair column \u2013 the STAB-O-MAT SF with a \u201cstroke-dependent stop function.\u201d From a certain height on, the chair will become a support for standing upright.
