What tomorrow\u2019s machine design can look like and what part servo drive technology will play in it, will be the main focus of Kollmorgen\u2019s presentation at the SPS\/IPC\/Drives exhibition on 26\u201428 November 2013 in Nuremberg, Germany. Real customer applications implemented by engineering providers such as Kuka and Schleuter exemplify the versatility of Kollmorgen drive technology.<\/p>\n

Custom-tailored synchronous servo motors in lightweight robots and \u201cIPC inside\u201d servo controllers for labeling machines: these are only two exemplary applications that visitors can investigate in Hall 1 (Stand 550). Kollmorgen customers enable this glimpse into their next generation machine designs. This year\u2019s trade show presentation will furthermore shine the spotlight on decentralized servo technology. Thanks to compact dimensions and high ingress protection, the robust AKD-N controller series can be comfortably integrated into machine constructions close to the motor. The single cable connection with an 11 mm wide hybrid cable between the controller and the motor additionally minimizes the installation effort. Combined with AKMH stainless steel servo motors the cleaning of facilities will also become much easier. Kollmorgen has improved this advanced drive technology to a point where its advantages can be made available centrally as well as decentrally with a single standard cable \u2013 for any motor and any encoder system, whether robust resolver or high-resolution multi-turn encoder. Kollmorgen thus decreases the warehousing and variant management effort. Moreover, the configuration of individual drive axes \u2013 for instance during commissioning \u2013 becomes easier, since it does not require the installation of extra cables.<\/p>\n
