A new technology is becoming established: a year ago, SOLARWATT was the first company in the solar energy sector to refocus its portfolio on glass-glass solar modules. These modules now account for around a third of the company’s total sales with this share set to increase. ‘We became innovators in the solar energy sector yet again last year with our glass-glass solar modules only four millimeters thick. These modules have become firmly established in both the residential and commercial sectors and have been very well received,’ states Detlef Neuhaus, CEO at SOLARWATT GmbH.<\/p>\n

The Dresden-based solar pioneer has over 20 years experience in manufacturing solar modules and introduced the first glass-glass solar module back in 1998. A lot has happened since then. The latest generation modules are much lighter, extremely resistant and exceptionally durable: they only lost around 0.6 percent of their output after 5,000 hours under intensified conditions during damp heat tests (DHT). This result confirms that the modules are able to withstand any environmental influences and are virtually ‘unbreakable’ compared to conventional glass-encapsulant modules. This is why SOLARWATT provides these modules with a unique 30-year product and performance warranty.<\/p>\n

The German Center of Competence in Civil Engineering (DIBt) verified the exceptional quality and safety of the solar pioneer’s glass-glass solar modules. The DIBt awarded the Dresden-based company a General Technical Approval, meaning the modules can be used in public areas without any restrictions.<\/p>\n

SOLARWATT is not only setting benchmarks in solar module manufacture: the latest generation of SOLARWATT Energy Manager will be available with innovative functions and intuitive user guidance as of July 1, 2014. Energy Manager records, controls, and optimizes the energy flows in an extensive range of power generators, such as PV systems, and energy consumers, such as heat pumps, as well as effective storage of self-generated solar power.<\/p>\n
