FAULHABER has launched a new generation of metal brush commutated motors, the 1024\u2026SR series with a diameter of 10mm. In combination with a gearhead, its output torque can achieve 300\u00a0mNm, twice that of similar products on the market. Thanks to a superior torque\/speed ratio (flat slope) the motor can handle varying loads at reduced speed variations, thus granting smooth control. This performance is achieved with very low noise and vibration levels. A wide range of matching speed and motion controllers, encoders, and gearheads allow for optimal adaption in high-demand applications like portable devices or optical equipment.<\/p>\n

The huge improvement in power and torque achieved by the 1024\u2026SR series is based on a redesign of nearly all of the motor\u2019s elements, including a new coil, a new commutation system and a new magnet. This results in a significantly wider speed range under load, delivering a continuous torque of 1.5 mNm at 7500 rpm and exhibiting an output power above 3W. The voltage can be chosen between 6V and 12V.<\/p>\n

A uniquely wide range of combination elements helps to transform the motor\u2019s power into high-end performance. It can be joined with either a magnetic or with an optical encoder when electromagnetic interference has to be excluded. The optional combination with a 12\/4 planetary gearhead \u2013 the only one of its kind on the market \u2013 delivers the highest power output levels available with motors of this class. Another unique feature is the length of the encoder-motor-gearhead combination, which can remain below 51mm in a 4-stage reduction configuration. The optional zero backlash spur gearhead eliminates rotating play and grants high accuracy at a competitive price. The 1024\u2026SR series provides extended lifetime by integrating spark suppression circuitry that minimizes the degrading effect on brushes and collector. The resulting clean commutation signal also enhances the accuracy of motor control.<\/p>\n

The 1024\u2026SR motor is ideal for high-demand applications, and its ability to offer high performance with small dimensions and low weight make it a good choice for all portable devices. Its low vibration levels enable its use in high accuracy applications, such as in optical equipment or high precision tools. An optional ball bearing version makes it also suitable for applications with radial loads. The motor is also available with a second shaft end, in a vacuum and in an extended temperature range version (-30 to + 125\u00b0C).<\/p>\n
