Vanderlande\u2019s FLEET has been elected winner of the 2017 inter airport Europe\u00a0<\/strong>Innovation Award in the interTERMINAL category. The company\u2019s flexible baggage logistics solution based on\u00a0<\/strong>automated guided vehicles (AGV) won the prize, seeing off strong competition to secure the accolade.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The inter airport Europe awards validate the aviation industry\u2019s best recent innovations, products and\u00a0equipment, with the interTERMINAL category representing terminal operations, infrastructure and technical\u00a0installations. The announcement awards Vanderlande\u2019s commitment to creating further business opportunities\u00a0for airlines and airports.<\/p>\n

Vanderlande\u2019s FLEET utilises AGV technology, which replaces the need for fixed conveyors and sorting systems.\u00a0Each individual vehicle carries a single bag and determines its route through an airport. Owing to its design and\u00a0configuration, FLEET is scalable, flexible and resilient.<\/p>\n

The award was voted for by the international airport community, and Vanderlande was formally presented with\u00a0the first prize during the Opening and Awards Ceremony.<\/p>\n
