ABRA-SHIELD&#x2122; will be an option for use with a number of expansion joint products that Garlock offers \u2013 including styles 204, 206, 7250, 8400 and 9394. These uniquely constructed joints also provide high levels of protection from stress, misalignment, vibration, noise, shock and corrosion.<br \/>\nMedia type and temperature play a significant role in the selection process of an expansion joint liner material. The specialty formulated hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber used in ABRA-SHIELD&#x2122; performs significantly better than common abrasion resistant solutions, with an operating temperature range up to 300\u00b0F.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-31558\" src=\"https:\/\/www.expo21xx.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/garlock.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"474\" height=\"220\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.expo21xx.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/garlock.jpg 474w, https:\/\/www.expo21xx.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/garlock-149x69.jpg 149w, https:\/\/www.expo21xx.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/garlock-350x162.jpg 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 474px) 100vw, 474px\" \/>In abrasion resistance testing \u2013 which provides data to compare materials and predict the lifetime of a material or coating \u2013 ABRA-SHIELD&#x2122; provided 50% higher abrasion resistance than standard EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber). ABRA-SHIELD&#x2122; will be the recommended solution in abrasive applications (such as slurry, ash and brine) with sustained or spiked temperatures between 180\u00b0F and 300\u00b0F.
