LASER COMPONENTS offers a comprehensive calibration service for fiber optic light\u00adsources, optical power meters and OTDRs from AFL, Greenlee, OptoTest and Viavi \u2013 and also, upon request, for devices from other manufacturers. In accordance with DIN ISO 9001, calibration is carried out by comparison with standards or standard measuring\u00addevices which can be traced back to the national standards of the German Calibration Service (DKD) or the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB). Each tested device is returned with a calibration certificate, documenting compliance with all procedures and requirements.<\/p>\n

Attenuation measurement sets and OTDRs are used by field technicians to determine if an optical fiber meets all the requirements of the network carrier. In order to ensure smooth network operation, it is essential that the manufacturer\u2019s specifications are strictly met. The quality manual therefore recommends that installation and maintenance companies regularly recalibrate their equipment in accordance with the manufacturer\u2019s specifications.<\/p>\n
