With the 55+ series, LASER COMPONENTS opens new areas of application for IR technology. The components are matched to provide the best results at wavelengths between 5 \u00b5m and 10 \u00b5m. This range of the infrared spectrum is currently used very little for analytical purposes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

LASER COMPONENTS\u2019 pyroelectric detectors in \u201cdifferential mode\u201d are based on patented technology from the corporate group. As a result, they achieve an unrivaled signal-to-noise ratio and can show their strengths particularly well in the wavelength range beyond 5 \u00b5m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IR emitters from the Dresden-based manufacturer Infrasolid, which are also patented, offer near-perfect efficiency at modulations up to 5 Hz and wavelengths up to 15 \u00b5m. This package includes the version in the TO-8 housing with a reflector and Winston cone on a standard basis. Alternatively, however, the emitters are also available in 3\u00d73 mm SMD housings for miniaturized designs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The detector-emitter combination is complemented by filters that are customized to the application.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMost IR applications today focus on the detection of natural gas and combustion gases and thus on the wavelength range between 3 \u00b5m and 5\u202f\u00b5m,\u201d says Joe Kunsch, head of the IR components business unit at LASER COMPONENTS Germany. \u201cHowever, there are also interesting areas of application beyond the 5 \u00b5m limit (e.g., the characterization of organic compounds). The fossil age is nearing its end. That’s where this area of the IR spectrum is becoming more and more important.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
