Fagor Automation has installed photovoltaic panels on the roof of its plant in Eskoriatza (Gipuzkoa) in order to move towards an energy transition within the framework of the Fagor Group\u2019s sustainability plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the president of Fagor Automation, Andoni Larra\u00f1aga, rightly says, the Fagor Group made a firm commitment to renewable energies and the energy transition in 2021 with the approval of the Fagor 2030 sustainability strategy, and at Fagor Automation we have always shown our firm commitment to taking the steps that correspond to us. An example of this is the 270 photovoltaic panels that we have recently installed at the Eskoriatza plant\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fagor Automation\u2019s new production plant has a nominal power of 100 kW and will be used entirely for self-consumption. This will make it possible to offset 6.33% of the energy consumed at the Eskoriatza plant with that generated by these new photovoltaic panels. The new installation could generate a total of 138,820 kWh per year, and Fagor Automation\u2018s consumption in 2019 was a total of 2,191,389 kWh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The generation of energy for self-consumption offers Fagor Automation several advantages, the main ones being the reduction of the electricity bill and dependence on market prices and the reduction of the company\u2019s carbon footprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sustainability, a basic value at Fagor Automation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Larra\u00f1aga has highlighted that Fagor Automation\u2019s \u201cbasic value\u201d is sustainability and that one of the \u201cfundamental pillars\u201d of Fagor Automation\u2019s corporate social responsibility is to take steps towards sustainability in the cooperative\u2019s activities; for instance, in the plants located in Eskoriatza and Usurbil, Fagor Automation uses raw materials that enable the reusableness of plastic. \u201cThe aim of the solutions we market is to create more efficient machine tools to reduce the environmental impact of production processes and reduce the consumption of raw materials and waste in general\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
