Today, JAI is pleased to announce the release of two new high-speed line scan cameras in its Sweep Series: the SW-16000TL-CXP4A trilinear color model and the SW-16000M-CXP4A monochrome model.

JAI’s new camera models offer 16K resolution with large 5 \u03bcm square pixels, coupled with a CoaXPress  4 x CXP-12 interface with high data throughput (50 Gbps). This combination of high resolution and high-speed connectivity makes these cameras ideal for manufacturing processes that require detailed vision inspection of small features at high speeds.

The SW-16000TL-CXP4A color model features a trilinear sensor with separate lines for red, green, and blue channels, delivering precise color reproduction making this camera ideal for applications where color reproduction is critical. Advanced algorithms ensure sub-pixel spatial compensation, aligning the R-G-B sensor lines to prevent unwanted fringes and HALO effect in the images.

Additionally, the color camera’s programmable color matrix allows built-in conversion to various linear color spaces, including sRGB, Adobe RGB, HSI, and CIE XYZ, making it suitable for applications where specific color accuracy is crucial.

These cameras are well-suited for high-speed applications such as battery inspection, flat panel display inspection, PCB inspection, and other continuous web processes. The color model achieves scan rates of up to 100 kHz, while the monochrome model reaches speeds of 277 kHz  – a significant improvement over earlier 16K line scan cameras with smaller 3.5 \u03bcm pixels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With larger 5 \u03bcm x 5 \u03bcm pixels, these cameras enhance light sensitivity compared to other 16K line scan cameras with smaller-pixel, enabling faster inspections with the same light intensity or potential cost reductions with lower-intensity lighting. The cameras also support FPGA-based 2×1 horizontal pixel binning, increasing pixel size to 10 \u03bcm x 5 \u03bcm for even better light sensitivity in low-light environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CoaXPress v2.0 interface supports CXP-12 configuration, providing data output up to 12.5 Gbps per line (for a total of 50 Gbps using all four lines). This high output is critical for applications requiring high resolution and fast scan speeds. The CoaXPress interface also offers robust features such as triggering and cable lengths up to 25 meters at full speed. Its low latency and jitter ensure stable, reliable performance for high-speed industrial inspections.

The cameras provide versatile GPIO and trigger options for flexible synchronization with lighting and rotary encoders supporting advanced functions like \u201cResume Scanning\u201d and \u201cTrigger Delay based on trigger counts\u201d

Additional features include region-of-interest, individual RGB gain and exposure control, an edge enhancement function for improved line and edge contrast, and image processing capabilities like pixel sensitivity correction (PRNU\/DSNU), black level adjustment, white balancing, shading correction, chromatic aberration correction and more.

The camera is provided with M95 lens mount and is delivered with a heat sink for effective dissipation of heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
