Utilizing advanced semiconductor technologies and MEMS methods, these sensors feature improved signal-to-noise ratios (SNR) due to new designs in pixel structure, absorber materials, protective gas selection, wafer level packaging (WLP), and optical coatings. These advancements enhance thermal resolution (NETD) and reduce costs through optics optimization. Thermopile sensors have significant advantages over competing methods like microbolometers and radar sensors, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Uncooled, shutterless operation with high refresh rates (up to 160 Hz for an 8&#215;8 array) without signal drift interruptions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Passive operation that generates electrical voltage, reducing power consumption and enabling battery-powered applications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No radiation exposure concerns, ensuring easier data processing without sensor interference.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Diverse Product Applications<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Heimann Sensor offers an extensive portfolio of optics and viewing angles (FOV) for different applications, from focused object detection (FOV=10\u00b0) to wide-area room surveillance (FOV=120\u00b0). Solutions for medium viewing angles (FOV=30-50\u00b0) and customized optics are available. Beyond temperature sensors, Heimann Sensor also provides module and array models for gas concentration measurements using Non-Dispersive Infrared (NDIR) detection, targeting gases like carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), and nitrogen oxides (NO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Advanced Pressure Sensing<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>MEMS Pirani vacuum sensors surpass traditional Pirani sensors, offering precise measurements from atmospheric pressure (1000 mbar) down to 1E-3 mbar (HVS 04) and 10 mbar to 1E-5 mbar (HVS 03k). These sensors come in a compact, durable TO-39\/TO-46 metal housing. By pairing HVS 04 and HVS 03k in a TO-8 housing, the entire pressure range can be measured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A Glimpse into the Future<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>AI-powered IR sensors enable automatic people detection, making them suitable for data protection-sensitive scenarios where cameras cannot be used. Low-resolution sensor arrays, like 16&#215;16 or 32&#215;32, are ideal since they do not support face identification. These sensors have applications in Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) in nursing homes and public space monitoring. The 45\u00b5m pixel size enables a hybrid solution with a 60&#215;40 array installed in WLP, offering new standards in sensitivity, size, and speed. The sensor operates at 21 Hz with 16-bit ADC resolution and consumes only 15 mW of power, significantly less than comparable bolometer models, facilitating efficient battery use.
