Hartmann Valves GmbH, a leading manufacturer of ball valves and wellheads, has been awarded the contract to supply approximately 1,400 ball valves for the GET H2 Nukleus project in Gronau-Epe. The client is RWE Gas Storage West GmbH.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GET H2 Nukleus: Advancing the Hydrogen Infrastructure<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The GET H2 Nukleus project is a key component of the energy transition and part of the GET H2 initiative, which aims to establish a nationwide hydrogen infrastructure in Germany and contribute to a lower-carbon future. The initiative covers the entire hydrogen value chain, from production to application, including green hydrogen production via electrolysis, pipeline networks for transport, hydrogen storage, and its use in industries such as refineries, steel production, and heavy-duty transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the first publicly accessible hydrogen infrastructures is being developed from Lingen to Gelsenkirchen as part of the GET H2 Nukleus project. This includes integrating the cavern storage facility in Gronau-Epe, where an existing brine-filled cavern owned by RWE Gas Storage West GmbH will be converted for hydrogen storage. Additional facilities will be built at the existing compression and withdrawal station, and the cavern will be connected to the storage operation via a field pipeline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hartmann Valves\u2019 Contribution<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For this project, Hartmann Valves is supplying approximately 1,400 ball valves with pressure ratings of PN 16, PN 100, and PN 250. The valves, ranging in nominal diameters from DN 25 to DN 300, are specifically designed to meet the demands of hydrogen storage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GET H2 Nukleus project is recognized as a flagship initiative for the energy transition and is supported as an Important Project of Common European Interest<\/em> (IPCEI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
