Rolls-Royce is supplying a second large battery storage system to Zeewolde in the Netherlands. Starting in 2026, the\u00a0mtu\u00a0EnergyPack will help increase grid stability in the Netherlands by storing electricity generated by the local wind farm in the large battery system and feeding it back into the grid as needed. Energy infrastructure developer Eleqtis B.V. has commissioned Rolls-Royce to supply, install and maintain the system, which will have a power output of 35.1 MW and a capacity of 144.4 MWh. <\/p>\n\n\n

The contract also includes a ten-year maintenance agreement (Long Term Service Agreement), which offers extensive guarantees for the customer: For example, the system’s capacity will be guaranteed throughout the entire term.\u00a0The facility is designed for grid-critical services such as frequency regulation, peak shaving and short-term trading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These systems are enabled by the revenue guarantee solutions of Catalise Energy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eleqtis focuses on creating flexible, future-proof power systems including large-scale battery storage, grid connections, and renewable energy assets. Catalise Energy<\/a> will deploy its Revenue Guarantee Model on this project which belongs to a comprehensive suite of services that ensure revenue certainty for developers, investors, and financiers in the global energy storage market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Autumn 2025, the first mtu<\/a> large-scale battery storage facility, Battery Park Zeewolde (BPZ), will go into operation, for which Rolls-Royce has also been commissioned. Battery storage systems are a central component of Rolls-Royce Power Systems\u2019 strategy. The company supplies turnkey large-scale battery solutions consisting of modular units for capacity and power that can be flexibly configured to any size. Rolls-Royce has now delivered mtu battery storage solutions for over 200 projects worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
