The Pietsch Group, one of the leading wholesalers in the building services sector, has commissioned H\u00d6RMANN<\/a> Intralogistics to implement an AutoStore system at its new logistics site in Oyten. In addition to warehouse automation, the general contractor is also responsible for integrating an automated guided vehicle (AGV) solution for the internal material flow – another example of the increasing networking of modern warehouse and picking systems.<\/p>\n\n\n

The AutoStore system will be installed on an on-site mezzanine and comprises a single-double grid with 18,200 bins at a height of 330 mm. Seven robots and seven R5.1 series loading stations ensure efficient processing of goods movements. Three swing ports on the first floor with bin lift connection and an additional frame for expansion form the interfaces to the downstream processes. The system is supplemented by pick-by-light picking, a robot cleaning station and production support in the start-up phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Safelog AGV solution with customer-specific trolleys is used for automated transport. Two mobile robots lift the trolleys using adapter plates and move along defined floor rails. Two vehicles with their own loading stations ensure a continuous flow of material between the AutoStore ports and the dispatch area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frank Leupers, Head of Logistics at the Pietsch Group, emphasizes the strategic importance of the project:
“With the new AutoStore system in combination with driverless transport systems, we will lay the foundation for modern, future-proof logistics. The automation at the new site will relieve our employees, increase process speed and enable us to meet the growing demands of our customers efficiently and reliably.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The start of production (SOP) of the system is planned for the first quarter of 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
