Ideal location, infrastructure and connectivity: the new Bio-LNG filling station of EnviTec Biogas AG offers optimal conditions for the growing logistics demand in the southern Oldenburg region. With the newly inaugurated site in Holdorf, the company is expanding its nationwide filling station network for the climate-friendly fuel Bio-LNG, while at the same time sending a strong signal for sustainable mobility in heavy-duty transport.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cHoldorf benefits from its direct connection to the major transport routes of the A1 motorway and the B214 federal road. The existing infrastructure of the service area was also a key factor in selecting this location,\u201d says Olaf von Lehmden, CEO of the biogas all-rounder operating from Lohne and Saerbeck. As an integrated provider of Bio-LNG, EnviTec<\/a> Biogas AG covers the entire biogas value chain \u2013 from production and upgrading of biomethane to liquefaction and the marketing of the renewable fuel Bio-LNG via its own subsidiary LIQVIS. The company produces around 500 GWh of fuel-grade biomethane annually in its own plants.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strengthening regional infrastructure for alternative fuels<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWith our filling station in Holdorf, we are adding another key point to the map of Bio-LNG supply. Our goal is to offer transport companies such as the nearby Schockem\u00f6hle Logistics a reliable and sustainable alternative to fossil fuels,\u201d explains von Lehmden during the inauguration ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are very pleased about this new facility, as it makes a significant contribution to broadening the region\u2019s energy supply and thereby also helps to safeguard jobs,\u201d says Dr Wolfgang Krug, Mayor of Holdorf, in his speech. \u201cThe fact that this new and highly modern facility has been established in our region goes beyond the functional purpose of a filling station and symbolises Holdorf\u2019s ability to adapt to the energy transition,\u201d he adds. With the new site in southern Oldenburg, EnviTec Biogas is not only strengthening regional infrastructure for alternative fuels but also supporting the transformation of the transport sector towards greater climate protection and security of supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are currently significantly expanding the share of LNG trucks in our fleet. In addition to the climate benefits of Bio-LNG, we benefit from the long-term price stability of this green fuel and, of course, from its regional availability right on our doorstep in Holdorf,\u201d adds Ralph Borgmann, Managing Director of Paul Schockem\u00f6hle Logistics GmbH.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bio-LNG is considered a key technology for reducing harmful CO\u2082 emissions, particularly in heavy-duty transport. The fuel is produced from upgraded biogas and \u2013 depending on the feedstock used \u2013 can achieve significant greenhouse gas savings compared to conventional diesel. \u201cEach Bio-LNG truck saves around 200 tonnes of CO\u2082 per year compared to a conventional diesel truck, based on an annual mileage of approximately 125,000 km,\u201d concludes von Lehmden. The Holdorf filling station has a storage capacity of up to 30,000 kg of LNG. Two dispensers allow for the simultaneous refuelling of two trucks. By supplying just 100 Bio-LNG trucks, the Holdorf site will contribute to saving around 20,000 tonnes of CO\u2082 annually \u2013 a tangible step towards the decarbonisation of transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
