The focus is on flexible use across a range of manufacturing scenarios \u2013 from single-part production through to small and medium-sized production runs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A defining feature is the combination of:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>automated pallet handling<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>integrated parts handling<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>setup during production<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>High system availability is achieved through automatic gripper and clamping device changes, as well as the ability to implement different machining strategies in parallel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Scalable system architecture<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A key feature of the RS 1 GEN2 is its modular and scalable architecture. The system can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>be operated with one or two machines<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be upgraded at a later date from single-machine to dual-machine operation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be supplemented with additional peripherals such as rack modules, measuring machines, washing equipment or AGV systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It can be connected to various HERMLE machining centres, enabling flexible cell configurations to be implemented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Compact design with excellent accessibility<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With a footprint of&nbsp;<strong>approx. 12 m\u00b2 (4.25 x 3.00 m)<\/strong>, the RS 1 GEN2 is one of the most compact solutions in its class. Despite the small footprint, access to the working areas of the machine remains completely unobstructed \u2013 in both single-machine and dual-machine operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The almost entirely glazed safety enclosure improves visibility of the process while also supporting the safety concept during manual interventions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Centralised handling system with a high load capacity<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At the heart of the system is a centrally positioned 6-axis robot which has a maximum load capacity of 60 kg. Thanks to its positioning on the system platform, it reaches all the relevant stations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Machine working areas (up to two)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rack modules<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Setup stations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transfer stations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This enables short travel distances, high dynamics and stable cycle times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Smart rack system with dynamic assignment<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The rack system is based on a software-supported, adaptive storage strategy. Workpieces and pallets are sorted automatically and in a space-optimised manner without any fixed assignment (\u201cchaotic storage\u201d).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The advantages:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>maximum use of the available storage space<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>reduced setup times<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>no manual rack configuration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The number of available rack modules is adapted to the specific system configuration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Integrated measurement technology for reliable loading<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The setup station system is fitted with a laser monitoring system which checks the height and width of workpieces before they are stored.
