The Siemens\u00a0Industry Automation<\/a>\u00a0Division is complementing its Simatic HMI (Human Machine Interface) device series with all-round IP65 protection with modular expansion units. The new components in the design of the HMI devices are individually equipped for plant-specific operator control and monitoring tasks, for example, with pushbuttons and illuminated pushbuttons, lamps, switches, USB ports, or emergency stop buttons. The expansion units are suitable for all Simatic HMI devices with all-round IP65 protection and are optionally attached on the left side, right side, or both sides of the Multi Panel 377 Pro 15\u201d, Thin Client Pro 15\u201d, or Flat Panel Monitor Pro 15\u201d. The complete system comprising an HMI device and expansion units also achieves degree of protection IP65 and now permits additional control activities and applications directly on-site at the operator station. The expansion units are wired up direct on the support arm system independently of the HMI device so that the wiring does not have to be disconnected in case of maintenance or if the HMI device is replaced.<\/p>\n
