They become assistants, protecting against damage to health from monotonous or hazardous tasks.\u201d The mobile concept study from KUKA, consisting of a KR QUANTEC robot, a KUKA omniMove and an autonomous navigation software package, exhibits impressive flexibility and high practical relevance.<\/p>\n<p>KUKA managed to take first place in the applied robotic solutions competition ahead of the Austrian company EEP Maschinenbau GmbH and the University of Zurich.<\/p>\n<p><strong>With the \u201cmoiros\u201d concept study, KUKA is taking an innovative approach to mobile robotics.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The unbeatable combination of tried-and-tested KUKA robots, mobile platforms and industrial components creates a mobile solution for virtually any scenario. The position and number of robots installed are variable, as too are the size and payload capacity of the platform, thus allowing the use of robots for payloads from 60\u00a0kg to more than 1,000\u00a0kg. Grippers, tools and special equipment can also be transported by \u201cmoiros\u201d and supplied with power. The \u201cmoiros\u201d concept vehicle on display is just one example representative of many more. It features a KUKA omniMove platform and a KR QUANTec shelf-mounted robot with the KR\u00a0c4 controller. Its laser scanner for monitoring its environment and the interated software and controller for navigation and motion allow reliable, mobile operation. The independent power supply using highperformance batteries and industrial wireless technology liberate \u201cmoiros\u201d from restrictive connections.
