  • M Series

  • M Series, is the preferred solution for continuous acquisition of high speed image streams. Each camera offers the smallest, lightest enclosures and are optimized to record long sequences. They are further distinguished by split screen recording, allowing each half of the sensor to operate individually.
    Compatible with two of the most widely used programming environments, LabVIEW and MatLab, M cameras are readily integrated into preexisting computer controlled environments built for gathering and assessing data. An included SDK enhances user control over every aspect of recording and automation processes. The proprietary Taurus platform, with multiple memory configurations available, is another option of custom IDT systems.
    The M Series is fully supported by the Motion Studio software package. The M Series are rated to resist shock up to 100Gs, and temperatures between -30 and 50C. Exposure times can be as fast as 1µs, minimizing motion blur for the fastest of movements.
    • M3

    • M3 records continuously at an impressive 517 frame per second with a full resolution of 1280x1024 directly to hard drive. Examples of useful applications of the M3 system include automated industrial uses, such as assembly line malfunction prevention and detection, and scientific uses including sustained observation of microscopic or quick-moving subjects.
    • M5

    • With the 2336x1728 pixel Orion II high definition sensor, M5 provides finely resolved long term recording. The 7 micron pixels with increased quantum efficiency for 3000 ISO monochrome, 1000 ISO color light sensitivity, 30 bit color depth, and 10 bit grayscale depth. With the available accessories, a full M5 system offers the ideal solution for any situation where image sharpness and contrast are imperative, and is specially suited for industrial and scientific scanning.
  • NX Series

  • Although small and lightweight, the NX Series cameras are capable of attaining speeds and image quality comparable to larger cameras.

    Succeeding NR Series, NX presents a radical shift in camera body design. By subtly adjusting the internal components, memory capabilities increased to (currently) 5 GB storage while also augmenting user control, enabling the real time image honing Pixel Pipeline for superior image stability and control.

    NX cameras are 3D-ready with the addition of a second camera; a short interoptical distance enables stereoscopic effects at closer distance. NX cameras feature a simplified rear panel with a single 16-Pin LEMO cable (19-pin LEMO for NX-Tra and NX-Air Models). The LEMO-16 or 19-pin connectors can interface with an external hub for multi-camera computerized control and video feedback. NX cameras are indispensible for applications requiring small size and weight, such as onboard crash testing or mounted airborne tests.

    The NX Series is fully compatible with the Motion Studio and Motion Inspector software package via Gigabit ethernet. The software package enables simultaneous usage of multiple cameras. NX cameras are shock rated up to 200Gs and can operate from -40C to 50C. Exposure times can be set from 1µs minimizing motion blur for the fastest movements. Each camera features one of three IDT-developed sensors.

    • NX3

    • With a maximum resolution of 1280x1024 pixels the NX3 records 2500 frames per second. With 6000 ISO mono/ 2000 ISO color sensitivity, 30-bit pixel depth (color), and High G resistance to shock, they are well suited for on-board crash testing, where space is at a premium.
    • NX4

    • With their excellent signal to noise ratio, NX4 cameras operate at the fastest speeds, up to 3000 fps at full resolution, and with the highest light sensitivity in a camera of their size. Three speed grades allow customized camera performance. Crash-testing, especially in vehicle, is the quintessential NX4 application. The cameras' compact design allows use in tight environments or when attached to a borescope.
    • NX5

    • Optimally designed for resolution, the 7 micron array of 1920×1080 pixels, powers the NX5. This sensor array benefits from improved quantum efficiency from its predecessor to reduce noise without sacrificing light sensitivity or bit depth. This makes the camera well-suited for situations requiring light weight and superb resolving power, such as component testing and microscope imaging. Special opportunities for the NX5 exist in broadcast and cinema, when the small size combined with the 2 megapixel resolution provides high definition imaging formats. Two cameras can be used as a compact stereoscopic assembly for 3D applications

    • With a maximum resolution of 1920×1080, the NX7 can record up to 5,000 fps. Combine this with its extremely compact size and High G resistence to shock, it is well-suited for on-board crash testing, where space is at a premium.

  • Y Series

  • Y Series cameras offer the most versatile platform supporting large internal memory (up to 64GB) for recording high-speed events, such as supersonic ballistics, aerodynamic tests and research. Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0 and HDMI serve as available outputs, enabling fast download and instant playback of the acquired images. For those users that require autonomy from a computer an optional wireless interface is also available. With the optional WIFI interface, users can control and monitor images wirelessly on iPad, iPod or iPhone.

    The electronic design includes a Pixel Pipeline Processor to auto-compensate for black level thus improving dynamic range. The Pipeline Processor provides real-time image de-Bayering, color balancing and sharpening. The frame-to-frame Auto-exposure and Motion Trigger are two other useful features of the Pixel Pipeline. For precision triggering and data acquisition, Y cameras include optional IRIG-B and GPS time code functionality. Y-Series models are rated to withstand 100Gs of shock, 40Gs vibration and operate in environments with temperatures ranging from -40C to 50C.
    • Y3

    • Y3 balances speed and resolution with a 1280x1024 pixel array and three speed grades, recording speedup to 6000 frames per second at maximum resolution. With extremely low noise levels and high light sensitivity, Y3 models perform well for those whose needs encompass both detail and speed, such as product testing— such as automobiles and engines.
    • Y4

    • Y4 is the pinnacle of speed. Three speed grades record videos at 3000, 4500 and 5100 frames per second with full megapixel resolution. With the relatively large 13.68 micron pixels, the sensor captures more light for a brighter, clearer image. The Y4 is the most versatile camera system, useful in production and research and development environments. This camera system can be operated in an extended dynamic range (EDR) mode to produce either 11-bit or 12-bit images.
    • Y5

    • The Y5 surpasses high definition with a 4 megapixel sensor capable of 730 frames per second at full resolution, and speeds 1000fps or above at HD1080 and HD720 resolutions. Variable lens mounts support cinema lenses, as well as those built for Nikon and Canon SLRs. The HDMI output ensures that the image can be monitored at the full resolution before, during and after recording. The large pixel array of the Y5 makes it well-suited for recording large scenes. The Y5 HDiablo provides cinematic high speed at 2K resolution and beyond.
    • Y7

    • Y7 is our latest breakthrough in Y-Series development. Utilizing the next generation of Northstar sensor technology, Y7 is offered with 2-megapixel resolution in three speed grades recording full res video at 5,000, 7,500 and 9,000 fps. New to the Y-Series, the Y7-PIV model introduces a universal integrated timing interface. This allows for synchronization of any illumination sources such as lasers or LEDs. Together with our standard 200-nanosecond inter-frame time, the camera is perfectly suited for PIV researchers as it decreases PIV system size and cost.
    • Y7 - PIV

    • The Y7 – PIV Edition is the latest advance in digital camera technology. This camera system boasts an imaging sensor capable of delivering 5,000 fps with 1080HD resolution, in single exposure mode and 2,500 image pairs in double exposure mode. This sensor technology also delivers the ultimate performance in light sensitivity and 10 bit images with high signal-noise-ratio (58 dB). A significant feature of this camera its that it is capable of delivering the required synchronization signals to any laser type (single or dual head, flash lamp or diode pumped) without the requirement of an additional timing interface.
  • HDiablo


  • HDiablo is cinematic high speed to the next level. Starting with the scientific-industrial standards, the cameras are enhanced with a cleaner image, less noise and improved algorithms for superior video output. Independent HDMI and Pixel Pipeline provide constant monitoring and real time image adjustment while YFi enables wireless control via mobile computing devices such as iPad and iPhone. HDiablo enclosures are specially built to better fit in the rigs needed for film sets.

    Two cameras have been given the HDiablo treatment: Y3 and Y5.

    Y3HD balances speed and resolution and offers the best value among high speed cameras of its class with a 1920x1080 image array recording at 1470 frames per second. Y5HD surpasses high definition providing a 2560x1920 image at 640 frames per second.
    • Y3HD

    • The Y3HD is the perfect tool for television production environments. This entry-level camera doesn't compromise image quality or functionality. The image output can be set at 1080p or 720p formats to compliment the requirements of the director. Delivering almost 1500 frames per second at either resolution, it fulfills most of the requirements of high speed recording in cinematic environments.
    • Y5HD

    • The Y5HD doesn't compromise image resolution and speed and is capable of supporting the most common image formats from 1080p up to 2560x1920. The camera system benefits from very low noise electronics delivering razor-sharp images with high-contrast. The dynamic range is measured at 59dB making is possible to resolve both dark and bright elements in a scene. This camera system can be configured with up to 32GB of memory for extended recording capability.
  • LED Lights

  • IDT’s LED light sources are designed to deliver the coolest light beams with maximum efficiency and intensity. New third generation LED-based illuminators are now available with more features and delivering higher luminosity structured beams than their predecessors. The LED’s are now available in a wider variety of configurations designed to accommodate a wider range of end-user requirements. The electronic controllers have been upgraded to accommodate the increase in power output and boast a specially designed micro-controller for the flexible operation of the light modules. The updated controller design allows for the continuous (100% duty cycle) as well as pulsed operation of the LED. When externally triggered for pulsed operation the LED’s the same high luminosity output level is maintained. This breakthrough technology allows the light module to delivers the same power output level regardless on the trigger signal duty cycle.

    A 4-port controller is now available for the control of 12 LED and 8 LED light heads. The controller is provided with a programmable user interface via USB and WIFI. The WIFI functionality is easily accessed with an ipod/ipad/iphone software interface.

    These highly configurable light sources are compact in size and can be mounted directly to an IDT camera or standard tripod mounts.
    • 19 LED

    • The 19LED cluster is provided in a self-contained package including the controller. This configuration provides a cost efficient solution for those users that require a generic light source for multiple uses.
    • 12 LED

    • The 12LED system is offered to those users that require maximum flexibility. The system can be configured with up to 4 compact light heads each comprising a total of 12 ultra bright LED’s. All 4 light heads are connected to a single controller to deliver continuous or pulse operation. The controller allows for independent configuration of intensity of each light head. The ON/OFF and dimming function is programmable via the USB or WIFI interfaces.
      For applications that require color illumination the lights heads are offered with white, red, green and blue led’s. The controller also features automatic detection of the color led’s in the12LED heads automatically adjusts its operating condition.
    • 08 LED

    • The 8LED system is a compact, ruggedized light head for users that require a diffused volumetric illumination. This requirement is often encountered in environments such as on-board vehicle crash tests.

      Operation of up to 4X8LED heads is possible via the 4-port controller. This controller and corresponding power supply are also used to control the up to 4x12LED heads).

      A compact, single head, controller and power supply combination will be available Q2 of 2011.
    • 07 LED

    • The 7LED cluster is provided in a self-contained package including the controller. This configuration provides a very compact solution for those users that require a generic light source for multiple uses.

    • YFi

    • This interface provides for control of the camera independent of a computer, insuring maximum portability. However when the camera is connected to a computer control can be toggle between the WiFi module and the computer, while keeping all the camera operational parameters in perfect synchronization.
    • M to Disk

    • The compact 2RU chassis is designed for standard 19-inch rack mounting and has a depth of 25.6 inches (651 mm). The Taurus platform includes the necessary camera link interface for the M-Series cameras as well as a state of the art solid-state memory to achieve several minutes of recording at the maximum frame rate and resolution.
    • Data Acquisition

    • The MotionPro Data Acquisition module is a multifunction data acquisition module for the USB2.0 bus. the module can perform simultaneous operation of analog input and analog output.
    • Timing Hub

    • The MotionPro Timing Hub provides 8 independent synchronization signals, with 20 nanosecond resolution, to integrate different devices such as cameras with illumination. The CMOS level pulses are configured to operate in trigger, gate or burst mode. Each output can be clocked independently using an internally or externally generated source. The system features two independent inputs for clock/trigger signals and provides continuous monitoring of their frequency and phase.

    • Motion Studio

    • The Motion Studio Software Suite includes applications for the operation of the X-Series, Y-Series, N/NR-Series and M-Series digital cameras, the MotionPro Timing Hub (Synchronization Unit), the MotionPro Data Acquisition System (DAS) module and the Galieo Wireless Synchronization System. For the advanced user, it includes an SDK (Software Development Kit), plug-ins for National Instruments LabVIEW™ and MatLab as well as documentation and samples.
    • Motion Central

    • Motion Central affords the user an intuitive control interface for setup and operation of from one to dozens of high-speed imagers on an Ethernet network. Motion Central taps the full potential from the rich feature sets of MotionXtra cameras including HG-2000, CR2000, HG-TX, HG-100K, HG-LE, HG-XR, HG-TH, and HG-CH imagers. An SDK is available for the advanced user wishing to develop custom camera control software.
    • proVISION™ PIV Software

    • The proVISION-XS package includes the newest PIV image acquisition and processing software. It supports X, Y, M, N series and sharpVISION™ cameras. The package can be installed to operate as a stand-alone PIV processing unit on a computer running on Windows™ (XP, Vista or 7) Operating System.

      The proVISION-II package supports the sharpVISION™ and the Megaplus™ cameras and runs on Windows™ 98, ME, NT, 2000 or XP Operating Systems.
