| L-CAT EVO - Versatile in-Line Selective Solder Robot ® |
Defining the soldering parameters is fast & simple due to
the intuitive interface of the EVO robot. The EVO has evolved from a long line
of selective solder robots.
All of the cables are internally routed via the Z-axis head and will not tangle
during rotation. The EVO has a program capacity of 100 programs and 100,000
points total to meet virtually all PCB soldering requirements. The soldering
temperature can be customized inside each of the 300 soldering profiles to
provide optimal quality & cycle time for virtually all applications.
X & Y motors with high accuracy rotary encoders achieve 0.01mm resolution (repetablility
0.02 mm) with a maximum speed 750 mm/sec. |
|
| Kawasaki 6 Axis |
The Kawasaki 003N 6 axis robot can be equipped with an
end-effector customized to your application. This robot has a gripper to pick up
a PCB, present it to the Apollo Luna / Terra soldering system and re-stack for
further processing.
The application possibilities are limitless as the 003N robot can accommodate a
large I/O bank and programming is very simple, flexible & powerful.
If you have a specific application in mind for more than just soldering, please
contact Apollo Seiko and we can determine the best way to provide a solution. |
|
| 4 Axis SCARA Robot |
The JS SCARA robot is a precise servo driven robot that
can be equipped with the Apollo Luna or Terra controllers, ZSB feeders and RS
iron units. This robot is designed for dial table, stand-alone or conveyorized
environments.
The SCARA robot can be equipped with a pick & place head and/or dispense head to
complement the soldering process and add to the capabilities of this powerful
system. A palletizing feature allows for processing of parts located in plastic
trays and logic functions can be programmed to provide for ultimate flexibility
in automation projects.

| Desktop Robot, J-CAT Series |
The J-CAT series of robots provide for an economical yet
powerful selective solder system with a very small footprint. These Cartesian
robots have a wide range of sizes for PCB's up to 500 mm square. They can be
programmed for either point or slide solder applications and utilize integral N2
for lead free applications.
Nine (9) models are available in a combination of 3 & 4 axes robots (J-CAT 200,
J-CAT 300 and J-CAT 400) and three controllers TERRA, LUNA and ECHO. |
|
| RS-L Slide Iron |
The RS-P / RS-L soldering irons have been designed for use
in automated environments. The RS-P model is utilized for all point solder
applications while the RS-L for line or "drag" soldering. The irons are powered
by a 48V DC power supply located in the Apollo robots and solder controllers (EVO,
Luna, Terra) which provides for easy worldwide integration regardless of AC
input voltage.
Apollo Seiko provides a large selection of iron tips to target the challenges of
your selective solder applications. |
|
| Terra Controller: |
| The Terra controller has been designed to be integrated
with any external robot. The Janome Cartesian & SCARA line of robots have a
complete software interface that allows the Terra to communicate seamlessly with
the Janome robot controller and provide a fully integrated selective solder
system. The Terra has the ability to program 100 point, 100 slide and 100 custom
solder profiles. The profiles are easily called via a simple I/O interface to /
from the Terra. This controller provides for a large quantity of profiles for
applications that require many joint types. The Terra is normally configured
with a robot to provide a highly functional system. |

| Lead Free Soldering |
Apollo Seiko has addressed the requirements of lead free
soldering by incorporating Nitrogen as an integral part of the process. The iron
unit and tips have a patented design which allow the N2 gas to be pumped
directly into the iron tip cavity and gently pass over the tip. The N2 gas
becomes pre-heated and helps to pre-heat the joint area as well as extend tip
life due to the local inert environment.
All of our soldering tips are plated with 100% Tin electroplate and are RohS
compliant. |
|
| Contact Type - Direct Power |
During normal soldering, the temperature of the soldering
iron can drop 50, 100 or even 150 degrees Celsius. This is caused by the
substrate or component being soldered removing the stored thermal energy from
the iron tip.
Apollo Seiko - Direct Power (RS Iron Unit): This is a patented technology used exclusively by Apollo Seiko. The concept of
Direct Power allows for almost instantaneous temperature recovery. The end result is
very consistent tip temperature solder joint after solder joint. The P.I.D.
temperature controller compensates for heat loss or gain by communicating
directly with the thermocouple two times per second. |
|
| Non-Contact Type - Diode Laser |
The LDS 30 laser soldering system provides a non-contact
solution to point soldering applications utilizing a semi-conductor diode laser.
This system is normally mounted onto the Apollo Seiko L-CAT EVO in-line four
axis Gantry robot. The soldering parameters are programmed via the L-CAT EVO and
the laser timing is set via the teaching pendant of the laser unit. The LDS 30
can also be used with the Luna controller for integration with other robots or
stand-alone applications.
The beam diameter is 0.4 mm at full focus and the laser power is programmable
throughout the solder profile as reuqired by the application. |

| N2 Flow CAD Drawing |
Lead free solder alloys have introduced new challenges
which make hand soldering much more difficult than with standard tin / lead
soldering.
The N2 Flow has four evolutionary functions of this fully integrated system
which make it much easier to solder in a lead free environment.
-99% pure N2 gas flows directly to the end of the iron tip
-Fast temperature recovery
-Integral wet sponge roller cleaner
-N2 gas flows inside the flexible hand-piece cable |
|
| SSA ~ SSB Feeding Units |
The SSA has a built in motor controller. the solder can be
fed forward or reverse and can be controlled by an external controller (PLC)
etc. The SSA system is designed for use in automated environments such as
filling solder pots automatically, feeding solder for copper joints, flame
applications etc.
The SSB Vari-Tap type simple temperatue control without a sensor. The solder
wire feed length is controlled with a timer. This can be fed by pressing the
trigger on the iron unit. The SSB\'s main application is for hand solder
applications where a self-feeding iron unit is desired. This allows your
\"FREE\" hand to hold wires / components for soldering. One touch of a button
allows for a metered amount of solder to be fed to the joint location. |
|
| ZSB 10/16 Manual Soldering Equipment |
| The ZSB Feeder has been designed for high quality
environments such as automotive, coils, speakers and highly technical PCB
soldering. The built in roulette cutting blade makes evenly spaced holes while
precisely feeding solder wire. During soldering, flux is released evenly through
these holes. This provides consistent flux coverage without spattering and
allows solder to melt on a clean active surface. |
