Hydraulics for mobile applications
Worldwide, Oilgear products are known for their durability and superior
performance. These components operate in the harshest of environments as well as
in the toughest applications.
Oilgear pumps feature time tested hard-on hard technology and a hydrodynamic
bearing design that allows these pumps to resist system contamination better
than competitor’s components as well as operate on environmentally friendly
(water-, vegetable and ester-based) hydraulic fluids.
Today Oilgear supplies fluid power components to the construction, mining,
forestry, agriculture industries as well as metal forming, stamping, machine
tool and other associated industries.

Hydraulics for forging applications

The New Oilgear "Towler" Energy Efficient Forging Control
System will Save you Money
With our specially designed “ACR” Forging System, you only consume power on
approximately 60% of your forging passes. Energy (power) from the forging
(down) stroke is stored in the ACR drive and then discharged into the return
cylinders for the return (up) stroke to save costs.
In order to save energy (power) and costs during forging, Oilgear has
designed a high speed, energy efficient, green forging drive, which utilizes
energy (power) from the forging (down) stroke to facilitate press return.
The system accomplishes this by storing energy into the ACR system during
each downward motion of the press and then releasing the stored power via
our sophisticated Fast Forge and ACR control system. This specially designed
forging press drive not only saves power consumption ($$), it also enables
us to achieve very high speed stroking rates, with high forging accuracies
(+/- 0.5mm), which in turn:
- Reduce the amount of on-die forging time, which in turn reduces the
required number of re-heats.
- Reduce the amount of finishing / machining work required on the
forging, thus allowing further cost savings to be realized.

SMC-Sheet Molded Composites
Oilgear SMC systems are used to produce everything from
door skins and shower enclosures to body panels for jet skis, automobiles
and semi truck cabs. We work closely with press builders, molders and end
users at assembly plants to insure that the systems we produce keep pace
with material and process developments.
A wide range of products is available from Oilgear. Hydraulic equipment
includes pumps, valves, manifolds and complete systems. Electronic controls
can be supplied as retrofit components or as completely assembled systems to
include the main control enclosure, motor control center, pushbutton
stations and an operator station. Our complete system approach means that
the control and hydraulics are perfectly matched:

Hydraulics for extrusion applications

Oilgear is one of the few companies in the world that can provide a complete
array of services for any Extrusion application. We have gained a unique range
of knowledge from our decades of experience and our hundreds of presses in
operation, and also recognize that the future of the extrusion industry will
have new requirements.
In order to maintain or gain a competitive position, productivity and quality
need to be improved continuously. As an additional challenge in the current
manufacturing environment, the required energy consumption for the extruded
products need to be reduced considerably for cost and environmental reasons.
To achieve this, we have pioneered advancements for all parts of your extrusion
press: manifolds, die changing, manipulator arms, billet loaders, distributed
manifolds, shears, and complete control systems. These custom-engineered
solutions will increase efficiency while simultaneously reducing downtime.
Our superior technical familiarity puts us in the position to provide innovative
solutions for your application, from equipping new extrusion presses to
undertaking the modernization of all types of presses in the field.

Hydraulics for the oil industry
Our partnership with the oil industry began in 1957 when
Bethlehem Steel sought out Oilgear to design and build the hydraulic drive
and control systems required for the jacking system used on their "Mr. Gus
II" and other similar class jack-up rigs. The units had to be roughneck
tough, able to withstand grueling operating conditions without any
predisposition to breakdown or failure.
Oilgear responded to the challenge with an innovative electrohydraulic
control system that permitted manual, individual leg or fully automated
operation. Many of these Bethlehem rigs are still in operation today with
the original Oilgear Petrodyne system continuing to provide reliable
service.
