Company Profile

In 1945, Palfinger finally moved to Salzburg. The first crane was built fourteen years later in 1959. The cornerstone of the present-day status of Palfinger was laid when the then 23-year-old Ing. Hubert Palfinger took over the company in 1964. He introduced the specialization in the production of hydraulic vehicle cranes. The steep ascent of Palfinger began in 1966. A series of cranes was produced for the first time. The continuous development of the Austrian market was followed by the first exports to Switzerland and France. The assembly plant in Kasern went into operation in 1974. The Lengau works in Upper Austria was opened in 1984. The rebuilt Koestendorf works was commissioned in 1992. Production started in the Maribor factory in Slovenia in 1993. In 1995 the assembly plant in Cadelbosco di Sopra/Italy was founded. In 1996/97 the production in Maribor was extended. Since 1998 the Palfinger Crayler portable forklifts complete the product-programm.
