Product Portfolio
  • SIMO Series Linear Motion Platform

  • The SIMO® Series Linear Motion Platform is a solution designed to be versatile, flexible, and affordable.

    • Versatile options allow a design engineer to meet multiple application requirements within a single platform.
    • Flexible due to consistent geometry creating a platform of interchangeable options.
    • Affordable with SIMO qualified rails providing machined precision at extrusion prices.

The SIMO Series Linear Motion Platform range of options includes:

    • Rail heights; low profile for tight spaces or a tall version for greater structural integrity. Each aluminum base rail is uniquely qualified with the SIMO process(Simultaneous Integral Milling Operation) for six times less bow, two times less twist, and two times better flatness. The result is a base rail with machined precision at aluminum extrusion prices.
    • 3 bearing tribologies; self-lubricating FrelonGOLD®plain bearings which are ideally suited for contaminated environments, V-wheel roller bearings for high speed applications, and profile rail linear guideways with recirculating ball bearings for rigidity and precision.
    • 3 drive types; lead screw with machined nut or anti-backlash nut, ball screw, or two versions of belt drives.

This versatility to mix-n-match features within the same design envelope allows an engineer to test multiple configurations, easily adapt to changing requirements dependent upon load, speed, accuracy, environment, and life considerations, while specifying a linear motion system that is on budget and on time every time.
      • SIMO Series Components

      • At the core of the SIMO® Series Linear Motion Platform is a SIMO qualified linear rail. The Simultaneous Integral Milling Operation qualifies the rail to tolerances that have 6x less bow, 2x less twist, and 2x better flatness. The result is a base rail with machined precision at aluminum extrusion prices.

The SIMO Series rails are available as components combined with 3 options of bearing tribologies for the carriage; self-lubricating FrelonGOLD®plain bearings which are ideally suited for contaminated environments, V-wheel roller bearings for high speed applications, and profile rail linear guideways with recirculating ball bearings for rigidity and precision.

              • Integral-V™ Technology (IVT) uses structural aluminum framing integrated with V-races. IVT provides a complete system built with or without structural support framework. Hardened steel raceways are directly embedded into the Integral-V rail to eliminate fasteners and reduce mounting components. The integrated rail utilizes PBC Linear's SIMO® machining process for precise mounting and alignment on all critical sides—ensuring dimensional and rail form accuracy. This allows the IVT carriages to roll smoothly, accurately and quietly along the rail. IVT is a perfect choice for medium format material handling, machine-tool guidance and extended length transfer applications.

                          • The ML Series are the smallest and most compact line of linear actuators offered by PBC LINEAR™. With actuator stroke lengths available up to 650 mm (25.6 in), this design incorporates feature advancements not offered by other competitors in this size range of actuators. Three (3) models are available:
                            • MLB – with integrated motor
                            • MLC – motor mount only
                            • MLD – hand driven knob or shaft

The distinctive outer profile of the anodized aluminum housing makes use of dovetail slots on all sides making installation quick and easy, allowing this actuator to be mounted more commonly from its underside or uniquely from its side. This feature increases the users options for mounting, highlighting its flexibility while being ideal for mounting orthogonally in gantry style applications. The dovetail slot design also helps to eliminate the potential for loose mounting by inducing tension when tightening it down with its wedge style clamping (being superior to the conventional square T-slot toe clamp), thereby holding its grip through strenuous forces and vibrations over long cycling. The actuators outer precision machined surfaces, processed through our Patent Pending process SIMO® (Simultaneous Integral Milling Operation), provide for flush mounting on any of its four sides to facilitate a qualified and clean installation.
                          • MT Linear Actuators

                          • The MT Series of belt driven linear actuators offers a number of profile sizes with multiple design configurations to meet requirements in high load, stroke and speed applications. Internally, a profile rail with runner blocks provide for guidance with low friction, noise and vibration. • The PL series offers a screw driven actuator with a 55mm x 55mm (2.17 in x 2.17 in) body profile. Pre-loaded ball bearing cam rollers guided by patent pending Integral-V™ hardened steel raceways are used to create smooth precise guidance. SIMO® (Simultaneous Integral Milling Operation) machining of each aluminum actuator body provides side and bottom surfaces that are machined flat and perpendicular for accurate installation. A stainless steel seal strip magnetically seals against the actuator body and resists contamination that would otherwise enter the actuator. Dual and extended carriages are available to increase the load and moment capacities.
                            • Anodized aluminum bodies of 55mm x 55mm profile.

                          • Uni-Guide Linear Actuator Systems

                          • The Uni-Guide Driven System is based on the D075, D100 and D125 aluminum rail and carriage assemblies. Uni-Guide driven systems are available in custom lengths with a precision lead screw drive mechanism installed. The Frelon GOLD® plane bearing material is bonded to the carriage eliminating all metal-to-metal contact and shaft damage. Frelon GOLD® is self-lubricating and does not require external lubrication. Uni-Guide driven systems are contaminant resistant and can tolerate vibration. The lead screw is 303 stainless steel with a TFE coating. The carriage is driven with a self-lubricating, polyacetal, anti-backlash nut that can driven by standard NEMA 17, 23, and 34 stepper motors. Other drive options including servo motors are also available upon request.

                          • Plain Bearing Linear Slide Systems

                          • Simplicity® Linear Slide Technology handles heavy loads and excels in harsh, contaminated environments. Choose from modular components, standard high profile slides, and low profile slides. The basic configuration consists of Simplicity® pillow blocks and a support rail assembly. Linear Slide Technology systems can be built–up to include: parallel rails, top and bottom plates, and screw drives. Screw drives can be fitted with a hand crank, hand wheel, or a motor mount bracket for standard NEMA motors. Modular components are ideal where the customer desires a custom rail spacing dimension or a single rail. The low profile systems provide the same functionality and configuration options as the standard high profile slides and can be used in applications where height constraints prohibit the use of the standard profile systems.
                            • Rail shaft diameters from 12.7mm (0.5 in) to 50.8 mm (2.0 in)

                          • Mini-Rail MS-LS Linear Actuator Systems

                          • Mini-Rail MS/LS miniature linear guide systems are lead screw driven actuators that offer an economical alternative to conventional miniature profile rail systems. Mini-Rail MS linear guide systems are motor driven. Mini-Rail LS linear guide systems are manually driven. Frelon Gold plain bearings in the carriage contact the hard anodized aluminum rail to form the linear guidance mechanism. No actuator maintenance is required. The lead screws are 303 stainless steel and have a TFE coating. The polyacetal drive nut is self lubricating and pre-loaded to eliminate backlash. Frelon Gold bearing material allows the Mini-Rail MS/LS miniature linear guide systems to better withstand shock and vibration than ball bearing systems.
