VeriSens® is a compact image processing system in the shape of a sensor.
Typical applications among many others are packaging and quality assurance.
As a true inline solution, different product attributes can be easily
verified directly after a manufacturing step. Thus, not conforming products
can be sorted out immediately. Flexibility and versatility of image based
part verification is a must for many users today. The ideal component is
VeriSens®. As a complete image processing system, it includes all necessary

To optimize wind turbine efficiency, the rotor speed is
adapted to the current wind conditions. When the system is shut down for
maintenance, the current position of the rotor must also be readily
available.

absolute encoders with contact-free multi-turn sensing systems which have
stood the test thousands of times as the optimum solution for nacelle

Stop position monitoring
If the plant's operation is to be interrupted, maybe for
a maintenance cycle, the blades are turned out of the wind and brought to a
halt. Inductive sensors reliably detect the piston position in the locking
cylinder and the stop position of the hydraulic pitch system.

Blade strain measurement
Tower and blades of a wind power station are permanently
exposed to heavy loads. The Baumer strain sensors, Vision Systems or
measuring inductive sensors monitor the loads on tower and blades and
provide a cost-efficient long-term solution that allows for predictive and
preventive maintenance techniques to reduce downtimes and optimize yield and
improves safety.

Air gap
monitoring
The enormous load impacts on the blades are directly
transmitted to the hub and consequently to the main bearing. In gearless
plants, asymmetric strain may reduce the air gap between rotating shaft and
nacelle. Measuring inductive sensors monitor the air gap tolerances at the
respective critical points and allow for balancing the load.

Filling level
and leakage
Gear components are often the cause for unscheduled
maintenance measures in wind power stations. Baumer level monitoring sensors
are installed straight at the gearbox or oil pan for equipment state
monitoring to enable maintenance cycle scheduling early on. Leakage sensors
are attached to the base of the oil pain and reliably detect even the
smallest amounts of fluid.

Brake pad
monitoring
Wind power plants employ disk brakes in many different
places. Robust and accurate inductive sensors permanently monitor the disk
pads and will give a warning early on prior to the pads having been
consumed. This allows for predictive maintenance cycles that boost plant
efficiency.

Pressure & temperature measurement
To prevent breakdowns caused by defective gears and
hydraulics, these components must be monitored continuously. Temperature
sensors reliably monitor the gear, the gear oil cooling system in the
nacelle and the the lubricant circuit with high temperature stability.
Overpressure-resistant sensors reliably monitor the state of hydraulic
components.
