KEB COMBIVERT F5 provides different levels of power ranges that can be precisely tailored for the application. Identical operation, handling and tools optimize the installation, start-up and service. The drive generation KEB COMBIVERT F5 offers the following features:
  • Standard inverters for open-loop applications with rated power of 0.37 … 15 kW
  • Universal line with extended software and I/O functionality up to 90 kW.
  • Open-loop and closed-loop line of inverters for applications currently up to 900 kW.

KEB COMBIVERT B6 - the new entry-level inverter at KEB.

This new inverter is available as of April 2007 starting in the power range up to 0.75 kW - 230 V class and shortly thereafter in the power range up to 1.5 kW - 460 V class.

KEB COMBIVERT B6 encompasses simple, efficient, capable and economical functionality. The B6 is the compact drive generation up to 4 kW.

Cooling concepts electronics - The Modular Cooling Concept
The frequency inverter and servo drive KEB COMBIVERT offer a modular heat sink concept to adapt to mechanical and thermal conditions in different applications.
 
Convection Heat Sink
This is the compact standard design including additional ventilation. The drive is designed in IP 20 and is mounted inside the panel.
 
Push Through Heat Sink
This heat sink concept reduces heat in the panel by up to 80%. This means smaller cabinets can be used. With the thermal separation of the heatsink and the installation of the drives in the enclosure the heat remains outside. That results in better ambient conditions for the electronic components and thus improves reliability.
 
Flat Rear Heat Sink
This cooling concept utilizes the thermal capacity of the machine itself or master heat sink to dissipate the heat.
 
Liquid Cooled Heat Sink
This is a closed cooling system for the design of hermetically sealed enclosures for challenging ambient conditions. Liquid cooled heat sinks guarantee the cooling of large power stages also in conjunction with liquid cooled motors.
 
Supply and Regenerative Units - KEB COMBIVERT Power Supply and Regenerative Systems
All moving systems have kinetic energy when in operation. When the motor slows down it acts as a generator and converts the mechanical energy back into electrical energy, which then is shunted into a braking resistor that results in heat.

The power supply and line regeneration control R6 provides a solution to balance energy or return energy to the utility grid.
 
KEB COMBIVERT R6 Power Supply and Regenerative System
The kinetic energy of AC motor drives is often an unutilized energy source.

The compact new product KEB COMBIVERT R6 is designed for power supply and regenerative operation for inverters and servo systems.

KEB COMBIVERT R6 can be operated at line voltage from 200 - 500 VAC. The design is modular with a compact commutation choke and EMI filter. In conjunction with the KEB COMBILINE harmonic filter solutions a sinusoidal regeneration to the utility grid is achieved.

KEB COMBIVERT R6 has a display to show the energy savings while regenerating to the grid.

KEB COMBIVERT R5 Power Supply Unit
The connection of electrical drives makes it possible to internally balance kinetic energy.

KEB COMBIVERT R5 is a centralized supply module for DC-bus coupled frequency inverters and servo drives. The integrated braking transistor and the central DC fuse reduce the complexity of the system installation.

The centrally supplied machine has a smaller power consumption and a higher resistance in case of line-voltage drops.

use the worldwide expansion of the IT network technology for industrial applications.

Ethernet TCP/IP connects the actuator level cost effectively to the IT level. This results in an easy start-up and diagnostics.

Ethernet and Powerlink provide real-time features to the drives so they can be used for high dynamic applications and motion control.

Profinet RT and Profinet IRT are further solutions which KEB will integrate in 2007. Sercos III and Ethernet IP will also be realized in 2007.
 
EMC Technique
EMC is an important factor for the operational reliability in machinery and plants and ensured the compliance with valid norms and standards. European norms and standards require manufacturers and users to comply with a set of EMC limitations.

KEB designs, manufactures and supplies a comprehensive range of input/output filters and chokes to comply with all international standards as well as to improve operating conditions. KEB experts in the field of EMC offer advice and support during the selection process of suitable products. For on-site testing a mobile EMC service is available. Competent consultation and mobile EMC-measuring means provide the options and optimisation on location - in short - they save in different uses the dependable compliance of the monetary requirements.
 
KEB COMBILINE HF Filter
Variable speed drives with uncontrolled rectifier input can cause low or high frequency interferences on the line that are limited by the EMC regulations.

Adherance to the standards are ensured with the use of a universal EMC filter. The EMC filters can be used to work with a single drive or as central filters used for several components in one system.

KEB COMBILINE EMC filters are designed for industrial or residential areas and can be supplied up to 1,000 A rated current.

Product offering: single filter IT line filter, filter for small leakage currents, 3-phase central filter, central filter with neutral (4-phase system), combined input/output filters.
 
 
KEB COMBILINE Harmonic Filter
Achieving sinusoidal harmonic current from standard 6 pulse rectifier load has always been a challenge. Historically this could only be accomplished through the use of costly components and more complicated rectification schemes.

The KEB COMBILINE harmonic filter is an innovative solution for equipping machines or retrofitting production systems. The compact design of the filter (patent pending) is available in two types:
  • standard series with THD (total harmonic distortion) smaller than or equal to 8%, PWHD smaller or equal to 15% in power settings 4 - 460 A.
  • economy series with THD smaller than or equal to 15%, PWHD smaller or equal to 38%. According to standard EN 12015 (european elevator/escalator norm) in power settings 2 - 63 A.

Larger power settings can be covered with connecting filters in parallel.

You will receive the PC tool KEB COMBIVIS at no charge. This software enables you to easily operate, diagnose and optimize all KEB inverters.
 
KEB COMBIVIS PC-Software
KEB COMBIVIS is an universal and effective tool for KEB drives.

Drive configurations are easy to administer:
  • display and adjustment of all parameters up to 8 parameter sets
  • display of units and monitoring of operating data
  • configuration of customer-specific parameters in the "CP level"
  • analysis of communication between drive and control

KEB COMBIVIS can be run on all PC's with serial interface and the operating system Windows 95, 98, NT and 2000, XP.

 
KEB COMBILINE Mains Input and Motor Chokes
The B6 rectifier input circuit in the input of variable speed drives causes current ripples that strain the DC-bus capacitors in the inverter and generate harmonic distortions in the utility grid. The mains choke (50/60 Hz) flatten the charging current and reduce harmonics. Both are important factors for the reliability and lifetime of the machine.

The modulated output voltage of the inverter stresses the isolation. This can result in problems in applications with long motor leads.

KEB COMBILINE motor chokes flatten the output currents, reduce the strain on the isolation and are available for the output frequencies...50 Hz, ...100 Hz and ...200 Hz.
 
Magnet Technology
For over 35 years we have used electro-magnetic forces for starting, stopping, holding and positioning motion axes in machines and applications.

In the present and in the future electromagnetic clutches create torque transmissions. A wide variety of electromagnetic brakes bring dynamic motion axes into a secure holding position.
 
Spring applied brake KEB COMBISTOP
The KEB COMBISTOP is a power off spring-set brake for dry operations. The brake force is applied by springs and activated by electromagnetic forces. The proven spring applied brake is used in applications to slow down turning loads or shafts that need to be held in position.

KEB COMBIPERM Permanent Magnet Brakes and Clutches
KEB COMBIPERM are clutches and brakes that operate according to the following principles: in currentless state a frictionally engaged connection of shafts is created through permanent magnet brakes. When current is applied the magnetic field of the permanent magnet is neutralized by the counteracting magnetic field of the coil.

Rare earth magnet materials guarantee a high temperature resistance (ISO class F) and a wide operating temperature range (20 - 100° C) for safe operation.

KEB COMBIPERM P1 permanent magnet brakes can be offered with a round or square flange to apply in servo motors or as a back-side mounted version. Nine different sizes are available.

KEB COMBIVERT P22 permanent magnet clutches are flange or shaft mountable.

Different armatures are available for both versions.
 
Clutches and brakes - KEB COMBINORM
KEB COMBINORM offers a complete program of brakes, clutches and combinations for applications in machines and systems. The torque range is 0.5 up to 500 Nm.

Electromagnetic Actuated Brake KEB COMBINORM B
The KEB COMBINORM brake is the most economical solution to brake and hold loads in machines and systems. The brake is available as shaft-mounted and flange-mounted versions.

Electromagnetic Actuated Clutch KEB COMBINORM C
The KEB COMBINORM clutch uses the force of a magnetic field concentrated on two pole faces to frictionally connect shafts with loads.
 
KEB COMBIBOX Clutch/Brake Modules
KEB COMBIBOX is an integral clutch-brake module for start – stop applications. The patented external readjusting of the air gap provides wear adjustment without disassembly of the unit.

The servo inverter series KEB COMBIVERT F5 Multi offers these features for the control of synchronous and asynchronous motors.
Synchronous motors are perfect for high dynamic applications when low inertias and high peak torques are required.
Asynchronous motors are preferred in applications with high external load inertias reflected back to the motor shaft.
In addition to the right feedback system, various styles of gear boxes adapt output speeds and -torque to the application. Brakes can be added to the motor / geared motor.

TORQUE LINE asynchronous motors are specially designed for closed-loop operation with the servo inverter series KEB COMBIVERT F5 – Multi. These systems offer an economical alternative for demanding applications with speeds as low as 0 rpm.

DYNAMIC LINE SM.000 synchronous servo motors are electronically commutated permanent magnet synchronous motors for applications requiring exact positioning and small footprint and weight.

KEB COMBIGEAR G and ZG Helical Geared Motors
The KEB helical geared motors are available in two types in the power range 0.12…45kW with output torques up to 10,000Nm. With a minimum output speed of 1.2 rpm and many ratios to choose from the KEB geared motors covers a wide variety of application requirements.

All KEB COMBIGEAR are available with spring-applied brakes, tachometer – and feedback systems and forced ventilation cooling fans to adapt the geared motors to demanding applications.
 
Helical bevel gears
KEB COMBIGEAR K Helical Bevel Geared Motors
The KEB helical bevel geared motors are available in the power range 0.12…30kW and are the powerful solution that demands the highest efficiency of right angle drives.

Compact dimensions with output torques up to 4,200 Nm are available.

High radial and axial forces can be withstood even in repetitive or forward/reverse applications due to optimum dimensioning of the bearing arrangement.

KEB COMBIGEAR F Shaft Mounted Helical Geared Motors
The KEB shaft mounted helical geared motors are available in 4 housing sizes in the power range 0.12…30kW and provide a sure fit due to their space-saving construction and simple slide-on mounting.

With available output torque up to 3,000 Nm and a minimum output speed of 1.3 rpm, this geared motor can cover a wide range of application requirements.

The KEB helical worm geared motors are available in the power range 0.12…12kW representing the “standard gear" in machines and systems due to their superior economic efficiency.

Planetary gears
KEB SERVOGEAR AL Planetary Gear
The KEB planetary gears are available in four sizes with output torques in the range of 5 … 2,000 Nm offering low backlash operation.

With the advantages of planetary gears like high torsional/axial stiffness, low backlash, efficiency greater than 95%, thermal length compensation and compact design the gearbox is well suited for dynamic servomotor application.
