> Gispen Atlas |
Gispen Atlas is
the latest Gispen table programme which may be called "versatile". Gispen Atlas
was consciously designed to support the five main activities in the office
environment with one program: meeting, consulting, collaborating, processing and
retreating. This gives Gispen Atlas an extraordinary scope and means that an
office environment can be designed in one style.
With Gispen Atlas, a perfect balance has been created between form, function and
a large variety. Gispen Atlas offers a table with a sleek T-leg as well as 4
legs. All tables are height adjustable and easy to combine, also with the
sit/stand tables in the program. Configurations can be easily varied, providing
a flexible response to changing staff and activities. Partly thanks to its great
variety, Gispen Atlas gives every environment – from the admin offices, meeting
rooms to board rooms – its own ambiance.
The ambiance provided by Gispen Atlas is above all unique and innovative. Design
without wanting to be design. Lovely details, strong forms, the right colours,
perfect finishing. The slender worktops (in solo and duo colours) are designed
with straight and curved tops, overhanging or not overhanging.
Gispen Atlas is a table program that can manage everything. Developed 100% in
response to market demands, from the activities and the requirements of the
user.

Furniture”. Squared, colourful seats that make you move, wiggle, search for
and find balance, establishing contact with and awareness of the body.
During the NeoCon Canada 2007 exhibition, which took place in Toronto,

| Seating > Gispen > Mondial chair |
Gerrit Rietveld designed the Mondial chair
specifically for the World Exhibition held in Brussels in 1958. The Mondial
was Rietveld’s ‘chair for the world’. The Mondial is both a minimalist and
innovative design, created by one of the most prominent furniture designers
of the 20th century.
Gispen has launched a special reissue of Rietveld’s aluminum chair, in
cooperation with Rietveld by Rietveld: the Mondial 2006.
The new Mondial is an authentic reissue of the original design by Gerrit Th.
Rietveld. The Mondial, the only project chair ever to be designed by
Rietveld.
Characteristic for the Mondial is the minimalist and clear K-profile.. The
back, seat, legs and optional arm rests come together at one central torsion
tube. That gives the Mondial its fascinating simplicity. The Mondial, is
available in two models: with and without arm rests and partly bakelite arm
rests.
The back and the seat are pressed out of an aluminum sheet. The frame is of
a bent steel sheet. The back and seat are joined together by poprivets. The
caps on the legs are in black PVC.
The Mondial 2006 was tested and approved by TNO according to ISO 7173, test
level 3, which indicates that the chair is suitable to be used in
contracts..
The Mondial is available in 6 different colours.

| Seating > Gispen > Gispen Slats |
The slatted sofa and chair Slats is transparent and
sober, yet with the minimal fabric upholstery, Slats offers unexpected
comfort. Bertjan Pot designed Slats at the invitation of “Stichting Sofa”,
an initiative aimed at promoting extraordinary furniture. The foundation
wanted to stimulate the use of soft materials in interior design, in order
to break the trend among young designers of working with hard materials.
Pot: ‘I wanted to design a transparent piece of furniture. You could see it
as a reaction to those massive living islands: all those sofas and chairs
with an invisible frame, a lot of foam covered by a layer of fabric. A
slatted sofa stands for simplicity. By pre-shaping the wooden slats and
covering them with fabric, you create a different kind of comfort. The shape
– the slatted sofa – is a tested concept; thanks to the fabric upholstery,
its appearance is different from what you’re used to.’
Slats is available as a 2-seater sofa and an armchair in 5 standard colours:
black, grey, red, green and blue. The aluminium frame is epoxy-coated in a
matching colour. A matching footstool is being developed.

| Seating > Gispen > Gispen 412 |
Licensed by Gispen International, Dutch Originals is
manufacturing remakes of the famous tubular Gispen chairs originating from
the interbellum period and marking the start of an industrial way to
manufacture furniture. Gispen 412 (designed by the founder of Gispen) is a
sprung-steel armchair without back legs(cantilever) with an extraordinary
comfort and is a designated Classic. Two-piece frame of hand-shaped, chromed
steel tubing. Fixed covering and characteristic Bakelite armrests with
upturned ends. The Gispen 412 is the best-known armchair in the Gispen
collection. Its design dates from 1934, after which it was in production for
more than forty years. The backrest stuffing was initially held in place by
four vertical lines of stitching, until Gispen decided to use padding for
the backrest in 1948. However, from 1955 the chair was again made available
with a back in the original style, though now with just three vertical lines
of stitches.
As well as providing style in business reception areas, this armchair's
timeless design and great comfort made it very popular for domestic use.

Product studies
are prototypes on display in Living Tomorrow. Together with Office Lab, Gispen
develops products and services in the house and the office of the future.
Vistors and clients are acquainted with new ways of working and living and are
shown new ideas as to how future office lay-outs can be furnished.
Product studies are also very much aimed at igniting discussions and to get
feedback on these conceptual products on display.
The results of these discussions about products, office concepts and ways of
working are used for further developments. |

| Concepts > Gispen > Elastop |
ElasTop: Flexible and soft material as a tabletop,
made from wide elastic ties.
ElasTop helps to achieve a better emotional balance for the worker allowing
playful interaction with what’s otherwise a rigid structure. A moment of
contemplation, a moment of relaxation at work. An invitation for the
intuition to spill out ideas.
The elastic ties are useful also in holding documents and accessories.
|
| Concepts > Gispen > Reflex |
A tabletop that shows the emotions of other
participants during a meeting. Emotions translated into different colors. A
table that reacts. That is the reflex, a standing meeting table that
collects emotions and gives feedback in a ring of light and colours on the
tabletop.
Mood changes, participating levels, agitation and pleasure, Reflex is able
to show it all. By measuring the volume and the “pitch” of the voices around
the table it shows the emotional inside of the speaker.
Emotional visibility helps meetings to be more efficient as non verbal signs
are now picked too. Enhancing faster and clearer communication and making
everyone involved instead of just a few.

previously. T-Desk allows both sitting and standing working postures.

| Concepts > Gispen > The Box |
Every person needs moments of privacy, a secluded
place where it is possible to concentrate. In crowded and overpopulated
areas, this type of place is not always easy to find. The future will show
an increasing need for such places.
Gispen developed the Box. Separated and concentrated working in new
dimensions.
The Box is a mobile office space that is easily moved to and placed where it
is needed. Mobile space, connected to wired or wireless equipment, offering
a haven of calm space where concentration is made easy for those that need
it.
Several kits allow the Box to be fitted for a variety of tasks, in a variety
of atmospheres, for all necessary functions. Colors and materials can be
chosen to make the Box fit into the office environment as an almost
invisible tool or as a remarkable landmark.
