  • Point Level Measurement

  • Limit detection is required in most silos and containers to avoid overfilling or unnecessary downtime. This means that the sensor needs to handle a variety of process conditions within a wide range of industries. This, for example, can be high temperatures and aggressive media in filters or reactors, or very light materials such as styrofoam in the processing or storage stages, and in the promotion of silica.
    So in meeting all the conditions that are presented we are able to offer an appropriate sensor for each application.
      • Rotonivo®

      • Rotary Paddle Level Switch
        Depending on the requirements, the Rotonivo® rotary paddle switch is used as a full, demand or empty detector in storage silos or process vessels and is suitable for use in almost all solids. With its simple electromechanical measuring principle it can also be adapted for extreme process conditions.
        A motor driven shaft causes the vane to rotate. Once the material level reaches the vane, thereby preventing further rotation, this creates a torque, which is converted via a switch to an electric signal. Once the vane is free again of the material, the output signal is reset and the motor driven shaft rotates again.
        This reliable and maintenance-free limit switch for safe level detection in bulk solids has international approvals for use in gas and dust hazardous areas and is also certified to SIL 2.

        • Vibranivo® - Vibrating fork

        • Vibration Level Limit Switch
          The Vibranivo® - vibrating fork, with its robust stainless steel extension and high sensitivity, is widely used in storage silos and process vessels.
          The Vibranivo® is robust, easy to operate and can, via its series range, be precisely configured for each application.
          Electronically stimulated piezos cause the fork to vibrate. As soon as the sensor is covered with material, the vibration is dampened and the resulting electrical current change causes the output signal to switch. Once the material level falls below the sensor, it is free to vibrate again and the output signal is reset.

          • Capanivo®

          • Capacitive Level Limit Switch
            The Capanivo® level limit switch can be used in many solids and liquids as a full, demand or empty detector.
            The robust, glass reinforced PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide) sensor is even suitable for food applications whilst also resistant to many forms of aggressive material. The Capanivo® can be used in storage and process vessels, or in pipes, as a limit switch and spillage detector.
            The electrodes in the sensor make up a condensator. As the level of the material changes, the capacitance changes as well. The integrated electronics evaluate the change in capacity and convert it to a switching signal.
            The Capanivo® has approvals for hazardous Locations (Dest Ex) and is therefore suitable for use in most industries as a limit switch.

            • RFnivo®

            • Capacitive Limit Switch
              The RFnivo® level limit switch is universally applicable in solids and liquids as a full, demand or empty detector in silos and containers. The different device versions withstand extreme process conditions and due to their stainless steel components, are very robust.
              The RFnivo® measures the capacitance between the probe and container wall. If the probe is covered by the product, the measured capacitance changes and a switching signal is activated.
              Since each container is different in geometry, the RFnivo® must be calibrated after installation. This is done automatically once the supply voltage has been connected or by pressing the calibration button on the unit.
              All versions of this device are complete with "Active Shield Technology" which ensures the probe is insensitive to any material build up or caking. This ensures complete reliability of the probe.
              International certifications for Hazardous Locations (gas and Dust Ex) ensure the device is suitable for a wide range of applications in all industries.

              • Kondunivo®

              • Conductive Level Limit Switch
                Kondunivo® level limit switches are used for the measurement of liquid or sludge in open or closed containers.
                These devices are used in process control to prevent vessel overfill or unnecessary idling or for pump control.
                The Kondunivo® measures the conductivity between its electrodes or the vessel wall. When the electrodes are in contact with a conductive product, the electronic switches a relay as a signal output. The probe can be precisely adjusted to the material to be detected.
                The robust construction of the probe is ideal for use within the construction industry, for example, in plastering machines, or in wastewater plants.

                • Content Measurement

                • In the area of continuous level measurement of bulk solids within silos, process vessels or open bunkers varying conditions need to be considered to ensure the perfect measurement solution is to be found for the application. These conditions include silo and tank geometry, installation position of the sensor, properties of the medium such as flowability, bulk density, conductivity, moisture, dust and adhesion.
                  Plus the required approvals such as explosion protection may need to be included and considered.

                    • Nivobob®

                    • Continuous Level Measurement
                      The Nivobob series of plumb bob sensors is used for continuous level measurement within bulk storage silos and for interface measurement.
                      The simple electromechanical measurement principle is a truly reliable all-rounder in most bulk materials.
                      The sensor weight, made of a suitable material, attached to either a tape or rope is electromechanically lowered from the top into the vessel. Once the sensor weight rests on the material, the winding direction of the motor changes and the sensor weight is rewound to the upper stop position.
                      For interface measurements, the sensor weight can be adjusted according to the density of the sediment. The distance is electronically measured and together with the programmed silo geometry information the microprocessors convert this distance into a volumetric output signal. The Nivobob generates an analog 4-20 mA signal and a Modbus RTU or Profibus DP interface for the evaluation systems.
                      As the system is immune to dust, dielectricity, conductivity, humidity and caking, the Nivobob always delivers a reliable level signal.
                      The system is simple to operate and extremely durable which keeps service and operating costs to an absolute minimum.

                      • Continuous Level Measurement

                        UWT's NivoRadar sensors are used for continuous level measurement in bulk storage silos. This compact sensor measures distances up to 100m (328ft) and due to its high sensitivity it is suitable for measurement of almost all bulk materials.

                        The 78GHz FMCW radar uses two-wire technology and is commissioned via a local programmer with display and an easy to operate Quick Start Wizard.  The high frequency signal with its small beam angle of  4° and its very short wavelength allows optimum reflection of the bulk solids material even when faced with a large material mound and can be used for continuous monitoring of solids in silos up to 100m.  The fequency difference, which is directly proportional to the distance, is then processed and provided as a level signal.  This makes the sensor suitable for use in narrow, tall silos and simplifies the installation and commissioning of the device.

                        The ability to withstand high process temperatures and dusty atmospheres means that this free radiating radar sensor provides accurate and reliable measurement results making it the perfect all-rounder for most types of bulk solids.

                        • Continuous Measurement
                          There are several industries where the level detection of sludge or solids within liquids is required. For example within sediment tanks/containers, filters or lamella separators within the metal industry, chemical plants, in limestone or gravel plants and within the wastewater industry. This requirement depends entirely on the accuracy and stability of the sensor. In many of these situations, the presence of pollution, chemicals and gases mean that the sensors must possess particular resistance. The Nivobob series 3300/3400 meet the needs of many interface measurements. Their simple and straightforward measuring principle ensure total reliability. The level evaluation and monitoring is via an analog signal 4-20mA and Modbus RTU / Profibus DP interface.
