      • Mechanical Treatment

      • Mixed or pre-sorted industrial and commercial waste contains raw materials that can be recovered by means of mechanical processing. Mechanical recycling equipment supplied by Eggersmann separates recyclable waste by composition and particle size to deliver the recovered raw materials in a particularly effective and efficient way, in accordance with application and material requirements.

        The size of each plant system is based on a detailed analysis of the substances being handled and the required quantities of recycled raw material. High-performance components developed by us in house guarantee maximum purity, reliability and fine-tuned capacity as required.

          • Biological Treatment

          • The natural fermentation-based recycling of organic waste provides us with a potentially inexhaustible source of energy.

            The fermentation of organic waste releases energy-rich methane gas, the high quality and economic efficiency of which makes it a viable alternative to fossil fuels. In addition to the recovery of biogas, Eggersmann recycling systems also provide nutrient-rich compost for use in the gardening and agricultural sectors.

              • Mechanical-biological treatment (MBT) plant layout examples

              • Eggersmann MSW Process Systems - the comprehensive, futureoriented solution for the treatment of household and commercial waste, with the
                objective to make optimal use of the energy and resource potential contained within waste. The modular technology consists of tried and tested
                processes, which include mechanical and biological waste treatment, as well as pre- and post-treatment. The modules of Eggersmann MSW Process Systems are set up to allow expansion of the system via interfaces, if required.

                      • Waste reception

                      • Delivery of waste takes place in an enclosed building, where a distinction can be made between systems using a shallow bunker or a deep bunker. A shallow bunker consists of a level surface that is directly accessible by delivery vehicles. A deep bunker comprises a pit, which is accessed from fixed discharging points on a ramp.
                      • Mechanical pre-treatment

                      • Residual waste, commercial waste and pre-sorted packaging waste all contain raw materials that can be extracted using mechanical treatment technology. At the sorting stage, a range of separating equipment is used to extract the desired materials.
                      • Purification of fuels

                      • One of the basic elements in many sorting facilities is the preparation of solid recovered fuels. Residual waste, which cannot be separated any further, is processed into a substitute fuel to be
                        used in a range of applications.
                      • Dry fermentation

                      • The plant consists of a module of 5 to 8 structurally identical dry digesters and a percolate digester with an upstream sand trap, located below the digester tunnels. Eggersmann dry fermentation is a safe and biologically stable process for the production of biogas.
                      • Aerobic treatment - Open windrow composting

                      • Aerobic treatment of organic materials for composting of green waste, organic waste, sewage sludge, for the treatment of organic fractions from residual waste or sanitization of digestate and/or production of a compost subject to quality assurance.

                      • Post-treatment involves treatment of fine fractions that were already subjected to mechanical and biological treatment. The main objective is the removal of any residual contaminants from a given compost fraction.

                        • FORUS Pre-Shredder

                        • FORUS Pre-Shredders are specialists for all types of wood and waste – effortlessly shredding domestic waste, commercial
                          and industrial waste, C&D waste, waste wood, green waste and rootstocks. The slow-running two-shaft-shredder also
                          processes plastic films, paper, cardboard and electronic scrap just as efficiently. Depending on the shredding unit different
                          rotor drives are used, from 2 x (multifunctional type, not synchronized) to 1 x (triangular knives, synchronized). The output
                          sizes range from 150 to 500 mm depending on the type of the after breaker bar. The Special Edition 250 is a superb allrounder that is reliably adapted to your requirements

                        • Terra Select Screening Machines

                        • Screening and sifting technology made in Germany. Be it wood, stones or organics, Eggersmann can separate it in up to three fractions with only one process. With trommel lengths ranging from 3.2 to 7.5 m, Terra Select machines deliver the best results with throughputs of up to 250 m³ / h.

                        • TEUTON Universal Shredders

                        • TEUTON Shredders are made for highest demands. In addition to three easy-to-change hammer types for cutting, crushing and shredding, the TEUTON offers an adjustable comb with counter knifes to adapt the final grain size to the individual requirements with only one pass. Applications include wood waste, household waste, commercial and industrial waste, tyres, as well as bulky waste and mattresses.

                        • The Bag Opener opens the plastic bags and transfers the metered material to the subsequent sorting and preparation plants. The machine is available as a standard model or in combination with a charging hopper.
                          The hopper is fed batchwise by a front loader.

                        • The BRT HARTNER BSV is designed for heavy applications with commercial waste and mixed construction waste (single piece weight: < 30 kg). The paddles and sieve screens consist of wear-resistant steel. The lateral sheets at the paddles are additionally reinforced. Furthermore, the entire machine frame and the shafts are adapted to the increased requirements. All eccentric bearings are doubled. As opposed to the BSH and BSW versions, both shafts of the BSV are driven by an electric gear motor.

                        • Bale Breaker

                        • The Bale Breaker serves for unraveling of press bales of PET-bottles, waste paper, residual waste, plastic waste and similar materials, as well as the metered material transport downstream working processes. By adjusting the unraveling grade, an optimal subsequent sorting is guaranteed.

                          The BRT HARTNER BB-series does not crush but loosen the material for a most effective material sorting. The bunker walls are designed as plug-in walls. This allows individual wall elements to be removed or added. If required, a supplemented ripping device can be installed for an additional loosening process and opening of tied bundles and cartons.

                        • BRT HARTNER D Feed and Metering Hoppers are designed for continuous and even feeding of most different materials and are equipped with an electrical volume flow regulation and an BRT HARTNER MF Moving Floor Conveyor.

                          Preferably, such Feed and Metering Hoppers are employed for feeding in sorting and recovery plants with waste paper, packaging waste, household waste, commercial and mixed construction waste, glass, refuse derived fuel, metals and electric waste.

                          The integrated Moving Floor Conveyor serves for material transport to the dosing unit. There, the recyclables are loosened up and presented to downstream sorting processes as even and continuous material stream. Optical sensors control the material layer on the discharge belt. The rotational speed of the dosing unit and the velocity of the moving floor are adjusted accordingly.

                        • Stationary Screen Drum

                        • SD Screen Drums are used to screen commercial waste, household waste and other types of material. It enables screening in several steps with different sized openings. The typical screen cut size is from 60 to 300 mm. The SD Screen Drums thoroughly turn and throw the material so that ideal separation rates are reached. Different entanglement protection features make this 3D screen very maintenance and cleaning friendly.

                          The machine is available in three different diameters and a total of seven different lengths. The SD Screen Drum is extremely sturdy. The bearing races, radial wheels, screen sheets and other wear parts have a very long lifespan.

                        • Stationary Windsifter / Air Belt Separator

                        • The separator classifies the input material into a light weight and a heavy weight fraction. The input material has to be free of fines and oversizes as far as possible. The input material has to be pourable and may not agglutinate. For good separation results, the ratio of the smallest to the largest particle should be 1 : 4.

                          The input material must be evenly discharged on the acceleration belt. Under the head of the accelerating belt a nozzle is placed. The input material passes this nozzle in free fall. Very light components are blown out of the stream over the arch belt directly into the settling chamber. In the transfer area, very heavy parts fall down on a heavy material discharge belt. All other parts bounce against the arch belt and are also separated into light and heavy fractions by the radius and the adjustable pitch of the arch belt. In the settling chamber the light fraction is separated from the air stream and discharged by the light material discharge belt.

                          The separator operates in recirculation mode. A second fan extracts the dust-laden air through a filter from the settling chamber and transfers the cleaned air to the surroundings. The separated dust is supplied to the light material fraction.

                        • For the Processing / Drying of Digestates

                          There are problems with the material in your biological waste treatment plant? It is too wet, too heavy and too inhomogeneous?

                          The Digestate Dryer is ideally suited for the pretreatment of fermentation residue by mixing, homogenizing and loosening the infeed substrates before aerobic treatment in dynamic material flow. The pressure ventilation of the material with preheated air provides optimized discharge of water and ammonia via the exhaust air. This is treated further via the exhaust air systems.

                        • Mixing Unit for Pretreatment of Digestates

                        • For the Optimal Production of Mixes from Digestate, Sewage Sludge or Similar and Structural Material such as Green Waste and Raw Compost.

                          The DM Digestate Mixer by BRT HARTNER is used for aerobic treatment - respectively for preparation for the further composting process - of digestates, sewage sludge or similar material. The structureless material is mixed with structural material such as green waste, raw compost or screen overflow.
