As a family-owned company, JENZ is a leading manufacturer of biomass-producing machines. With around 250 employees, we develop and produce state-of-the-art machines that are used for the efficient shredding of wood and green waste as well as biogas substrates. The result is sustainable biomass products for further energy use, which means that we are making an important contribution to the development of bioenergy as a supporting pillar of the energy transition.
Our actions are characterised by two key features: a sustainable approach to the environment and economic benefits for our customers. As a family-run company, we stand for the values that have made us strong over decades: quality, innovation and sustainability.
If you want to process woody biomass, you've come to the right place.
JENZ is especially known for its mobile wood chippers for the production of wood chips. We also produce stationary wood shredders as well as high-speed shredders. The latter can process biological waste for composting or biogas production, or produce good biomass fuels from difficult materials such as roots or waste wood.
Founded in 1921, our family business is now run by the fourth generation. More than 250 employees at JENZ work with great dedication and passion to meet the high standards of quality and customer service.
JENZ is best known for its mobile wood chippers. The machines are supplied to customers all over the world and are designed for the production of wood chips for biomass generation plants, wood-fired heating systems, and other applications.
The JENZ portfolio of chippers starts at a required drive power of 110 kW (150 HP) and ends at over 982 kW (about 1,300 HP) of system power. The mobile machines are available on either truck, trailer or track drives. In addition, JENZ also offers stationary wood chippers that are driven by an electric motor. Depending on the drive, throughput rates range from 60 to 500 srm/h. This means that small to medium-sized orders as well as large orders in continuous industrial use can be handled.
Self-proprelled wood chippers from JENZ are unbeatable in terms of economy and offer the greatest possible flexibility between forest, industry and highway thanks to 80 km/h maximum speed. The Chippertruck series is divided into two versions: the 3-axle Chippertruck and the 4-axle Chippertruck hybrid.
The 3-axle chipper truck is powered by a 520 hp MAN engine. So is the 4-axle Chippertruck hybrid, which also has an 812-hp CAT C18 superstructure engine. This drives the chipper drum, while the MAN engine is responsible for material discharge, the crane, and the hydraulics. In chipping mode, this results in a usable output of over 1,000 hp. Both the Chippertruck and the Chippertruck hybrid are available with two cab variants: either with truck cab and mower glazing or as a rotating Cobra cab.

And all this on an economical truck chassis with mechanical steering - robust, reliable, efficient. The Hackthor is not a vision, it is reality. And ready for any job.
Unbeatably economical
Mounted on a three-axle truck chassis, the Chippertruck convinces with its mobility. The drive is provided by the truck engine. An additional motor is not used in the self-driven unit. Thanks to its high flexibility, the chipper can be used economically for small jobs at private customers as well as for large-scale operations in heating plants. The JENZ Chippertruck series HEM 583 and HEM 593 differ in their intake widths of 1.2 m and 1.4 m and resulting throughput rates. Different cab variants, state-of-the-art control elements and well thought-out maintenance concepts ensure maximum ergonomics and user-friendliness.
Self-propelled with dual engine technology
The Chippertruck hybrid is the flagship among the JENZ mobile chippers. With its efficient dual engine technology and over 1,300 hp of system power, the self-driven unit is ideally equipped to meet all requirements. The chipper combines maximum throughput with flexibility and ease of operation. Thanks to its mounting on a 4-axle truck, the large chipper can be used economically and flexibly at different locations. Different cab variants, state-of-the-art machine control and well thought-out maintenance concepts ensure the highest level of operator friendliness.
JENZ offers drawn wood chippers in two versions: PTO chippers and machines with add-on enginges PTO chippers, as their name suggests, are driven by the tractor's PTO shaft. The heart of this chipper type is a proven driveline system. The necessary power requirement starts at 110 kW (150 hp) and goes up to 400 kW (544 hp) for the large tractor class.
Chippers with add-on engines have an output of 390 to 597 kW (530 to 812 hp). They are distinguished between transverse and longitudinal superstructures. Transverse superstructures are highly mobile and very flexible in their use. Longitudinal superstructures, on the other hand, are semi-mobile and are used in port terminals, for example. Chippers in longitudinal superstructure design are fed by wheel loaders or handling excavators.
Driving JENZ from 150 hp
The entry into the professional class of chipping. With the HEM 5400 Z, JENZ offers an economical, compact entry-level model for all those who prioritise efficiency, durability and sophisticated technology - with manageable investment costs. Driven by the PTO shaft of a tractor up to 300 HP, the HEM 5400 Z is the ideal solution for contractors, forestry businesses, local authorities and biomass farms who want to reliably produce professional woodchippings - without having to invest in the upper class.
The outstanding feature of the HEM 5400 Z is the D1 rotor with a diameter of 820 mm, which is fitted as standard. This ensures extremely smooth running and enables optimum woodchippings even with low drive power. The HEM 5400 Z represents the entry into the proven JENZ world - with high processing quality, sophisticated technology and a clear focus on economic efficiency. The machine will be presented at the Profi-Days.
Together with the HEM 593 Z, the HEM 583 Z is one of JENZ's PTO chippers in the medium power class. The machine is designed to be driven by towing vehicles in the 180 to 475 hp power class. Shrubbery and logs up to a diameter of 560 mm are processed without any problems.
Compared to the HEM 593 Z, the HEM 583 Z has a 20 cm narrower intake width of 1.20 m. The resulting compact dimensions and weight advantages enable particularly flexible use, even in confined spaces.

The JENZ Chipper HEM 593 Z is designed for tractors with a drive power of 180 to 475 hp . Its intake width of 1.40 m is 20 cm greater than that of the HEM 583 Z. This makes it much easier to distribute bulky material on the intake table, optimises intake behaviour and results in less idle time for the machine operator.
Long travel distances, widely scattered piles of material with bulky shrubbery and frequent screen basket changes - these challenges can best be met with a universal chipper. In this regard, the HEM 593 Z is ideal and can serve both small combustion plants and large thermal heating plants.
The HEM 841 Z is the largest PTO chipper from JENZ. The machine is designed for large tractors with an output of 244 to 544 hp. Thanks to its wide intake of 1.40 m, particularly bulky material can be distributed wider and flatter on the table.
This leads to better cutting geometry and easier running of the drum, which increases the wood chip quality enormously. Designed for mass, the HEM 841 Z has an unbeatable throughput. This means that several jobs can be completed in a short time, the machine and the tractor can be used to capacity all year round and operating costs can be kept low.
Chippers on intermediate frames are chipping units mounted on a separate frame. This frame can be easily mounted on various truck frames or hook lifts. JENZ supplies only the chipping cell. The customer can therefore choose the chassis of their choice and still receive a high-quality product.
Our wood chippers on intermediate frames are particularly powerful due to the use of a "small hybrid system". The truck engine, which also drives the crane, can additionally supply the hydraulic blower with energy. This noticeably increases the performance and ensures a consistent ejection distance as well as a high chipping quality. Similar to the dual motor technology in our Chippertruck hybrid, the superstructure motor only works when chipping. During transport, on the other hand, only the engine of the carrier vehicle is used. This allows for maximum performance in chipping while maintaining low maintenance costs and maximum durability.
Wood chippers on track drives are the ideal solution for demanding operations in difficult terrain or when maximum mobility is required on the construction site. In this case, transport can be carried out with a standard low-bed low loader. JENZ Tiger chippers are particularly well suited for use in industry. They are both robust and powerful and can be used even under the most challenging conditions. Equipped with a large longitudinal intake, long, large logs and bulky material can be processed with this machine. The powerful drive ensures fast, effective wood processing.
JENZ is not only known for its mobile biomass processing machines, but also for its stationary wood-chipping and microchipping machines. These machines are necessary as a preliminary stage for the production of pellets.
Stationary wood chippers are driven by an electric motor and customised to the individual needs of the operation. JENZ offers drum chippers for wood diameters from 180 mm to 700 mm.

Be it green waste, scrap wood, roots or biogas substrate  JENZ biomass processors are high-speed shredders designed for flexible applications involving biomass as an energy source.
The product group of the JENZ biomass processors, generally known as shredders, consists of a total of four machine types. The range of shredders extends from the compact BA 615 and the BA 926 with twin-gear drive all the way to the powerful large-scale BA 1016.
The BA 615 shredder is a compact and powerful biomass processor designed primarily for smaller (contract) operations or municipalities. Thanks to its low dead weight of only 11.5 t and a low feeding height of 1.86 m, the BA 615 can be easily transported and fed with small tractors or wheel loaders.
With a 1200 x 615 mm inlet opening and 3800 mm feed length, the JENZ shredder can be used for a wide range of materials such as green waste and bark but also light scrap wood. Due to its rotor speed of over 1,100 rpm, the most compact JENZ shredder is also ideally suited for fine substrate processing.
The BA 615 series:
The BA 916series:
The BA 926 shredder is the ideal solution for companies that want to produce biomass fuels in addition to composting or biogas substrate processing. The range of processable raw materials extends from green waste to bark, old wood, logs, and roots. The material all-rounder is available with either 530 hp or 625 hp and can be equipped with free-swinging or stationary tools, depending on the application. The unique TwinGear system allows quick changeover between chipping and shredding inserts at the touch of a button.
With 812 hp drive power and a particularly heavy rotor, the large shredder BA 1016 from JENZ is the expert when it comes to processing particularly demanding material, such as waste wood, roots or crosscut timber. Above all, the large shredder scores points for its outstanding throughput capacity. For this reason, it is used where either hard difficult material or particularly large quantities of material need to be processed. For example, over 200 t/h can be achieved in manure processing.
