      Nicolás Correa offers its customers head self-calibration cycles. However, indexing Correa heads maintain their geometry thanks to the toothing assembly system and the real-time correction of head dilations. This means that self-calibration cycles are not necessary when working with indexing Correa heads.

                      • The automotive industry has always been, and continues to be, a priority sector for Nicolás Correa.

                        Consequently, Correa machines offer 4 key characteristics for machining stamping dies and injection moulds:

                        Shock absorbing capacity: The shock absorbing capacity of our machines enables them to carry out large-scale roughing operations while maintaining stability and therefore prolonging the cutters´ working lives.
                        Robustness: The robust design of both the structure and the guidance and drive systems enables the machine to offer a high level of precision when finishing a surface.
                        Thermal stability: Controlling the points on the machine at which heat is generated and minimising the impact of external thermal variations help maintain the part zero position in long-running 3D finishing operations. Another key factor is ensuring the real-time monitoring and control of the temperature inside the head.
                        Head technology: Heads must comply with the most stringent demands in both roughing and finishing operations. In shape roughing, our indexing heads guarantee a high level of stability, even when using long milling cutters in 3+2 operations. In finishing operations, in addition to offering 5-axis heads with electro-spindle, we also guarantee top-quality results thanks to the use of our UAD technology. UAD technology enables the machine to rotate continuously (24 hours) at 6000 rpm with a high level of stability, thanks to its special transmission and cooling system.

                        Rolling stock structures

                        Because of its wide range of heads and its automatic change system, which includes small attachable heads. This system enables the machine to access all areas to be machined without having to move the part. Complex heads defined specifically to machine crankshaft and camshaft supports in the engine block.

                        Because of the capacity of its indexing heads: operations with long tools and shock absorbing capacity when vibrations are generated in the part. The head maintains its position even in the event of strong vibrations in the part.

                        Integration of mechanical and hydraulic tools and zero point systems into the machine.

                      • Wind energy

                      • The wind energy industry is one of the sectors best suited to Correa products.

                        We have over 15 years´ experience in manufacturing large floor type ´box in box´ milling machines. The ´box in box´ technology, coupled with Correa indexing heads, offers sufficient robustness to cope with the large-scale roughing operations required by this industry. These large-scale roughing operations enable the machine to make full use of the head´s 52 kW and 1375 Nm torque in any position (indexing every 0.02º, patented system). The ´box in box´ structure, coupled with the robustness of the Correa indexing head, guarantees that most of the spindle power is turned into chips, thus ensuring optimum performance during the various roughing phases. During the finishing of gearboxes, the thermo-symmetric ´box in box´ structure helps maintain excellent machine geometry. Moreover, we have also developed special cycles with a sensor probe that minimise errors at the tool tip during the finishing process.
