Richardson Devine

Company Profile

A contract with Richardson Devine is a contract for the finest design, technology and engineering Australia has to offer. Richardson Devine was formed in 1989 and has been continually operating from the Hobart waterfront producing aluminium passenger and cruise/charter vessels. The directors have extensive experience in marine construction and recreational activities. They have a "hands on" approach to closely monitor the construction of each vessel. The vastly experienced and talented workforce is dedicated to produce quality workmanship in both construction and fitout. The vessels are tailored to individual requirements and can range in size between twelve to forty metres. Recent vessels have been low wash catamarans specifically for the tourist passenger ferry operating in protected river areas. Other vessels constructed at RDM have been for limited offshore requirements in Australian and the United States west coast. The company's design team works in conjunction with naval architects to produce designs specifically to individual needs. The team have conducted exhaustive tank tests at the Australian Maritime College for their low wash ferry hulls.
