  • Sorting systems

  • Sorting large numbers of items can be done in various ways. Items slide or are pushed from a position. The various sorting machines integrated by Distrisort are always from EuroSort. These sorting systems are very reliable, have a great effectiveness, require little maintenance and are very quiet. In addition, these machines can take both left and rights bends and ascending and going down in one closed system is no problem.

      • Twin Push Tray sorter

      • The ideal supplement to the Push Tray programme is the Twin Push Tray for combining flexibility with a greater capacity.

      • The Push Tray sorter

      • The Push Tray sorter has been developed specifically for logistical processes where different types of items which have to be sorted in mixed form. For example, a combination of cardboard boxes, (light) plastic bags and differently formed parcels. These items are pushed from the tray and slide in the selected exit without falling.

        What are the possibilities of the Push Tray sorting machine?

        The Push Tray sorter is a multipurpose sorting machine with carriers which can be realized in various models: the single, twin, triple and the heavy duty tray. Combinations of these trays are also possible. The items may vary from light items in small plastic bags up to and including items with a weight of 25 kilograms in boxes. With this sorting machine it is possible to sort up to a maximum capacity of 24,000 trays per hour.

      • The Tilt Tray sorting machine

      • The Tilt Tray sorting machine has various configurations, whereby it is possible to sort one single item, two or four unique items. The selected tray depends on the required capacity and the size of the items. This method of ejecting is very suitable for items for which it is better that they slide instead of fall. For example, multimedia, pharmacy, jewels, clothing accessories and other vulnerable items.

        What are the possibilities of the Tilt Tray sorting machine?

        The available trays are: Single, Dual, Twin and Quad Tilt. In addition, a combination of tilt/split tray is also possible from a technical viewpoint. The capacity of a tilt tray sorting machine varies from 2,500 to 40,000 trays per hour.

      • The Sweeper Belt sorter

      • The Sweeper Belt sorter is an easy-to-integrate sorting machine with a modular structure. It is easy to extend the number of exits and the main supply track. The sorting machine brushes the product from the main supply track into the allocated exit. Exits can be found on one side or both sides of the main supply track. At the exits it is possible to collect the items in boxes, bags or trays. This machine is very suitable for sorting small items, parcels, polybags, accessories, multimedia, books and pharmaceutical items with a maximum height of 150 mm and weight up to 2 kilos. Depending on the average dimensions of the items to be sorted, the machine can sort up to 7,200 items per hour.

        This machine is very suitable for sorting small items, parcels, polybags, accessories, multimedia, books and pharmaceutical items with a maximum height of 150 mm and weight up to 2 kilos.       • Split Tray sortingmachine

      • This type of machine is applied much in the clothing sector, pharmacy sector and E-fulfilment orders. It is possible with this type of sorting machine to stack products directly in a box, crate or in the exit because of the patented EuroSort tray mechanism.

        What are the possibilities of the Split Tray sorting machine?

        The Split Tray sorting machine has two models: the Single split and the Dual split. The standard sorting capacity is 7,200 or 14,400 trays respectively per hour. By reducing or increasing the speed and/or adding a platform, the gross sorting capacity can be increased up to more than 21,000 trays per hour.

        • Return on Investment

        • When a sorting concept is considered as a possible logistical solution, DistriSort starts with collecting details for a Return On Investment calculation. This calculation offers a basis to design the concept. Through this calculation it is possible to determine an accurate investment amount, whereby the client recovers the investment through the system. In this calculation it also becomes clear what the financial consequences are of the increase in productivity and error reduction.

      • Concept

      • Warehouse to organize?
        When there is a need to sort, this is often on the basis of growth and the fact that expansions are not possible anymore. For example, there is insufficient space for extra people, tables for working, racks or whatever. With a sorting concept it is possible to implement various warehouse flows at the same time.           • Omnichannel

          • For the retailer who serves clients it is crucial to deliver on time in a sales channel, selected by the client. The specialist magazine Emerce applies the following definition: "Omnichannel, or the evolved variant of multichannel, is a new method of operating. The focus is shifted from sales through various channels to a coordinated experience for the client." The following situation occurs: a client is interested in item X, because it has been on television. The product is available through the website, but the client would like to see the item in your shop. The client looks for the nearest-by shop through the app on his mobile phone. The client finds out through the contact centre that the item is available in the shop, but not the required model. In the shop it is explained in which branch the required model can be found. The sales statistics show that this item, in the required model, is an absolute fast-mover. The new stock of this model will arrive in the central distribution centre the next day. How can the client act quickly, faultlessly, efficiently and accurately? We have an idea, can we share it?

          • E-commerce

          • In order to integrate e-commerce orders in the normal process there are some major differences with the “old” way of processing orders. The most important difference is that e-commerce orders are characterised by a large number of orders with relatively few products per order. As a solution a sorting machine can operate with pre-sorting or special e-commerce exits. It is also not a problem to combine e-commerce orders and other orders, for example combining ship orders with e-commerce for a sound optimisation of the picking process.

          • Cross-docking

          • Cross docking works as follows: the received goods are used at once to prepare the orders in the batch. However... goods enter unsorted. A sorting machine sorts the required numbers of the product in question directly to the individual order. The items not used in the batch are pre-sorted in the same round for the next batch(es). The pre-sorted goods are therefore guided over the sorter again with the next batch, but entering them again is always quicker than picking and sorting them out again. It is also possible to sort the items that have not been assigned to an order in the batch to a stock position. At the end of the process the totals offer an accurate summary of the number of received goods. Inter-branch traffic or shop-to-shop logistics in a distribution centre function in the same way.

          • Returns

          • Sorting returned goods automatically is a good option when quickly taking back products in the stock. It is possible to sort items according to innumerable variables, such as SKU, product group, size, colour, stock position or any other required variable. Moreover, it is possible to process the returns at once again in the current process, so that the goods will be quickly available for selling. Reducing the lead time of the returned goods process therefore has any advantages.

          • Sorting outbound goods

          • Outbound sorting is aimed at sorting orders. The sorting can start after collecting a certain quantity of orders and picking the matching goods. By combining a large number of orders the efficiency of the total process is increased. This is because picking 1 SKU takes X number of seconds, however picking the same SKU takes much less time than twice X seconds. Sorting therefore makes it possible to pick efficiently and reduce the costs of the total picking process. Possible picking errors are discovered during the automatic sorting process. As a result no incorrect items or numbers end up in the orders. Sorting therefore implies a conclusive final inspection in the total picking process. This process sees to it that the final client receives what he had ordered, so that the perception of quality of the final client increases. Outbound goods, removal goods, forwarding, goods exit These are goods which are collected from the picking zone. After collecting them they are sorted out according to individual orders

          • Sorting inbound goods

          • When goods are received at the warehouse they are always inspected. Depending on the product a random sample is taken of each box, that is to say, each product is inspected. Sorting concepts help hereby. Use a counting machine as a solution by sorting according to size, dimensions, colour and model. This shows at once how many items of a certain type enter. In combination with counting it is possible to sort out the items according to the next batch or ready (e-commerce) orders. The remaining items will go to stock positions.
