Darüber hinaus werden die beim Kopierfräsen anfallenden sehr leichten Späne auch aus tiefen Aussparungen oder Kavitäten mit Hilfe der Kaltluftdüse entfernt. Das Prinzip der Kaltluftdüse basiert auf der Wirkungsweise von Wirbelrohren. Gewöhnliche Druckluft wird in einen kalten und einen heißen Luftstrom geteilt. Ohne zusätzliche Energiezufuhr durch Strom oder bewegte Teile kann die Kaltluftdüse eine Kühlleistung von bis zu 733 W oder Temperaturen von ca. –40 °C erzeugen und benötigt dazu nur Betriebsdruckluft von ca. 6 bar. Ein Wasser-abscheider oder eine Wartungseinheit sollte vorgeschaltet werden. Ein Regelventil im Heißluftauslass regelt die Temperaturen und Strömungen.
