    Well aware of the need to produce renewable, clean energy alternatives to oil, 30 years ago Bonfiglioli saw the opportunity of exploiting its vast experience in gearboxes for developing ad-hoc solutions for wind energy.  A number of wind turbine gearboxes (700T series) has been designed, engineered and manufactured by Bonfiglioli Trasmital. The result was a complete packagededicated to the wind energy sector which seamlessly enabled the control of energy generation, from rotor blades positioning with a pitch drive to nacelle orientation with a yaw drive.

    Drawing on its vast experience in inverter design, Bonfiglioli Vectron has produced a completelyintegrated inverter solution for yaw drives and is now developing a pitch drive control system as well as re-generator inverters to direct the electricity created by the wind turbine into the power grid. Working closely with customers to develop tailor made applications, Bonfiglioli uses its flexibility to deliver reliable, superior performance products, which comply with any worldwide standard.     • The IEC-normalized BN motors comply with all the applicable international standards, including the EMC and LV Directives. They are available in the foot and the flange mounting version, the latter in both the IM B5 and the IM B14 configuration.

    • RPS TL Modular Outdoor and RPS Transformer Station

    • The RPS Modular Outdoor 220 kWp inverter and RPS Transformer Station are two new Bonfiglioli solutions that deliver a high level of resistance to outdoor operating conditions as well as superbly flexible installation. The all-new design of this modular solution enables installations to be configured to meet specific needs and gives PV park operators the freedom to choose from a wide range of transformer cabins, rated for 440 kWp, 660 kWp, 880 kWp and 1110 kWp.
      The compact design and limited weight of the cabins permit installation even on rough ground. PV system designers will therefore have no trouble in finding the perfect solution to match the characteristics of the area in which their park is located. The external body is resistant to water, dirt and dust, and can be installed virtually anywhere, even near the transformer cabin. This reduces energy losses and the length of cabling needed, cutting installation costs in the process.     • Bonfiglioli's RPS Station photovoltaic field conversion system offers a tailored solution capable of minimising system design times and costs and maximising the efficiency of any photovoltaic field with a medium voltage feed to the grid.     • RPS Log

    • Bonfiglioli RPS Log 1000 is a monitoring tool for photovoltaic systems designed with a large integrated touchscreen display that allows the tabular and graphic evaluation of installation data. RPS Log 1000 supports up to 20 inverters simultaneously via an RS485 interface, allowing data from each inverter to be read, saved and analysed.
      RPS Log 1000 measures and compares efficiency data for individual strings, monitoring up to 1440 strings consistently, and also compares the performance of individual inverters. This allows malfunctions to be easily and securely diagnosed for all photovoltaic fields.
      The web-based software allows both tabular and clear graphic display of daily, monthly and annual yields - at any time, and anywhere in the world. RPS Log 1000 sends out alarm messages via email or SMS as preferred, and provides a USB connection for data transfer. RPS Log 1000 does not require any software installation.

    • Bonfiglioli RPS Sensor Box is an extremely useful item of equipment, and provides valuable information for the analysis of solar field energy efficiency. RPS Sensor Box provides a reliable target/actual comparison as well as quick and easy fault recognition. Sensors are positioned in the PV field monitoring system to record deviations between potential and actual power production. Ambient data measurements are saved in the RPS Log 1000 data logger that interfaces with the Sensor Box. The Sensor Box comprises sensors for wind, solar radiation, outside temperature and module temperature. All components of the RPS Sensor Box connect up quickly and easily via an RS485 interface which permits secure data transmission over up to 1000m. Sensors are secured by screws, making installation of the solution extremely quick and easy. An optional outside temperature sensor can provide a reference value for solar radiation, enabling the forecasting of possible power production. If any deviation occurs, the RPS Sensor Box generates a warning message.

    • Bonfiglioli's SCB string connection boxes let you connect from 8 to 24 strings in parallel, and also provide protection and detailed monitoring of the photovoltaic generator. Components like a DIN rail fuse holder string with positive and negative pole protection, and an under-load output disconnector guarantee accurate failure isolation, facilitate maintenance and maximise energy efficiency.
      The String Connection Box optimises cabling, reduces system downtime and facilitates maintenance by technical personnel. The photovoltaic system is further protected by the presence of overvoltage dischargers on the DC side, with removable cartridges for easy resetting. The SCB series is compatible with all commercial photovoltaic modules. Functionality is guaranteed over a temperature range of -25 to +50°C. A pressure compensation valve prevents the formation of condensate. Installation is quick, easy and safe.
